Re: Spark cut limiting not working at all?
James, I did check my timing ffs. The output was set to js10, like I was wired to. The tach output was set to d14, as was factory. What happened in my situation was the software was outputting the tach output to the ign output and vise verca. I swapped them in both settings, with no change, then whe...

Re: Basic trigger isn't agreeing with any of my spark timing
Yes that was all gone over already. It wasn't responding until the recent changing then reverting of the settings. My 3.57 board is working in both cars now, I need to take my 3.0 apart to confirm which output I'm wired to as James requested

Re: Basic trigger isn't agreeing with any of my spark timing
I started on d14 (spark A) as factory settings? And tacho was on js10? This gave me all my issues, I then swapped the settings, got a conflict, switched them back and then it worked fine? The settings are back on what they were originally set to when I was having the issue. Wouldn't that be a softwa...

Re: Basic trigger isn't agreeing with any of my spark timing
Ok so swapping to js10 revealed a error message, saying tacho conflict! I realized I had the tacho out put on, but to js10. So I turned off the tacho output, went to test the spark output, and bam I now have spark during the test! I'm guessing I was running the engine with the tach output not the pr...

Re: Basic trigger isn't agreeing with any of my spark timing
So I get sparks while cranking it, but I get no sparks when attempting the output test mode? I've got the settings in test at output 200ms, coil test one, output test coilA, dwell 20ms. I can see the start button in black, and clicking it does nothing spark wise.

Re: Basic trigger isn't agreeing with any of my spark timing
Ok so I'm trying to test my coil setup as per the setup instructions, but I'm getting no sparks? I'm assuming I should see a set of sparks across the plug I have hooked up directly to the coil?

Basic trigger isn't agreeing with any of my spark timing....
Hey all, so I've been having some issues with the basic trigger feature on 2 gm basic trigger installs (one an lt-1 optispark hall sensor, and the second is a gm tbi with the HEI module deleted) in which I have no control over timing advance at all. The trigger wizard does nothing, even modifying th...

Re: Spark cut limiting not working at all?
well i mean, i know when you hit the limiter on a running engine the spark should go out, till it drops in rpm till under the limit and then the spark comes back on. im pretty sure this would mean the ign signal coming from the MS into the stim would loose its spark signal if rpm was sustained over ...

Re: Spark cut limiting not working at all?
Ok James I see where your coming from, I'll have access to the car again in a couple days to mark out some proper timing marks and see how it's responding to my changes. Am I right to assume tho, that if spark cut was doing what it's supposed to, I should see the ign light go out on my stim when I p...

Re: Spark cut limiting not working at all?
Your window for your rev limit options is shrunken, if you expand it abit more, or scroll down on the side bar (not the main screen, just little rev limit window) you'll see the spark cut option ;)
I'm pretty sure I'm on version 3.3.1, or what ever the newest software is as of a couple months ago.

Re: Spark cut limiting not working at all?
ok, so why does it say "spark cut limiting: on or off" which i have "on" in both logs, but my coil output on stim stays active the whole time? i can see the spark retard working fine in the logs when i have that on, but im getting no cutting of the spark output, like its supposed...

Re: Spark cut limiting not working at all?
Really? How is it a waste of time posting, if I'm seeing the same problem on my stim as I was in the car. Verifying the timing has nothing at all to do with spark cut. This is what I'm trying to rectify.
And 2 goes with 1 and 3 goes with 2

Re: Spark cut limiting not working at all?
ok so ive been doing some testing on the stim, and im noticing that on the tunerstudio screen, it is saying spark cut in red at the specified rpm, but the ign light on the stim doesnt ever go out? i made 2 logs, only changes between them is one has retard to -10deg limiting plus spark cut, and the s...

Re: Spark cut limiting not working at all?
No I haven't, I don't have any timing marks on the pulley, they are factory set. I guess I could ad some, but the engine doesn't respond to anything from the spark limiting, I figure it would be felt, even slightly if the limiter was trying to do anything

Re: Spark cut limiting not working at all?
I'm firing the coil directly, signalling the ms directly from the optispark distributor using a basic trigger hall signal. I've tried the soft limit from 100-1000 rpm, no change.
