Re: DIY Drive by Wire controller project.
Unfortunatelly, the source was made in pure assembly, and all the comments are in portuguese. I don't know why the HEX didn't work for you. I use original PicStart plus from Microchip and good old MPlab 4.0 to write my PIC programs. The configuration header of the source for pic: processor 18F2620 #...

Re: DIY Drive by Wire controller project.

Re: DIY Drive by Wire controller project.
What type of software did you use, I tried a couple different types of Pads viewer's with no luck. Thanks Robert Would it be possible to get a BOM? This board was drawn with old Protel 98. Protel only runs in Win XP and is not hard to get and install it. I think Altium package can open and edit/pri...

Will find it and post tomorrow.Mario wrote:This is really cool. Do you have part numbers for the pedal and throttle body you have used?
I like how you have very neatly incorporated features into your project, and that it is transparent to the MS is excellent.

Re: DIY Drive by Wire controller project.
Leave the PWM frequency at 100Hz or close. Set the Idle control in megasquirt as if you're using PWM idle valve. After the initial pot calibrations for min and max. travel of the plate (with PWM input disconnected) reconnect the input PWM and play with % limits of PWM settings to find out the correc...

Re: Megathrottle - Drive by wire for Megasquirt
Could two of these be used off of one pedal, for dual DBW throttle control like the Holley Dominator ECU? Also, is there a way to buy one of these(or a kit version) from you, or would be have to build our own from scratch? Thanks for sharing with us, this achievement. Is possible to control 2 DBW t...

Re: Megathrottle - Drive by wire for Megasquirt
When I started to develop this project , I tried to implement a DBW controller that did not depend entirely of a microprocessor that could easily lock in an electrically hostile environment such as an automobile . I have personally seen many cases where the injection module suffer constant resets du...

DIY Drive by Wire controller project.
This project has nothing to do with B&G or the developers team of original Megasquirt products. It is an experimental project to control electronic throttle bodies found on newer cars and are not intended to be used in countries that have strict laws about modifying cars or their electronic saf...

Hi James! Before I see your note about the processors being different, I replaced the suspect processor by one pulled from a MS3 Daughter card. http://i469.photobucket.com/albums/rr54/piubrazil/3000GT/20130831_124435.jpg Funny note: http://i469.photobucket.com/albums/rr54/piubrazil/3000GT/20130831_1...

Re: MS3 Pro Module - firmware loading issues.
Well... I freeze just thinking in my goods passing thru the import customs... Believe me, this just doesn´t work the right way here in Brazil. Once I had to replace a bearing from the gearbox of this 3000GT and the only place I found it to buy was 3SX.com. The bearing was sent to me, and when the be...

Re: MS3 Pro Module - firmware loading issues.
Unfortunately, the process of send it to DIY Autotune is almost impossible, due to burocracy of the import/export Brazil's law... If I send it to USA, I would need to pay another import tax, and it's almost 100% of the value of the goods. Unpraticable... Matt, tell me I will not end up with a 850,00...

Tested with serial por... Didn't work The pump output is steady in 12V All sparks outputs are in low level. With the scope, I can see a clean 8Mhz signal at the crystal pins, wich suggest the processor is not dead. I think the processor is not programmed. The board have a stick dated 01/2013, I gues...

Re: MS3 Pro Module - firmware loading issues.
Didn't try the serial port yet... I'll try it for now. The 5V are Ok. Tried boot jumper and did not make any diference. I traced the communication after the FT232RL and the 115.200 baud signal is Ok. Just have not response from the processor. Is there a way to trace if the processor is alive or just...

MS3 Pro Module - firmware loading issues.
I received a MS3 Pro module from DIY Autotune and started to make my plug and play for a 1994 3000GT. After get the board done, I tried to load pre 1.3 Alpha 7 on the processor, but the board do not respond to the firmware loader. The computer see the USB-serial port, but MS3 Pro module do not answe...

Re: VW 1.8T trothel "idle Valve" discution
Yes, the ECU can close the throttle plate in order to stall the engine, as I've told by a Bosch ECU mapper, in the case of a engine overtemp.
In the rest position, the engine idles at -+900rpm.

Yes, you can use the 5V to supply both Cam and Crank sensors. I have a 3000GT running a MS3X and works pretty well.

Re: MS2/Extra TODO list
On these "newer" cars we got used to make an adapter to use the original harness with no modification. The currently solution is done with a relay or a channel P fet in the adapter to invert the output signal to turn on the pump module. We have done this way to not need custom mod's at eac...
