Re: Ms3pro-mini knock module?

Apparently John Pizzuto (of J&G Safeguard) is still kicking, so you can still get an excellent stand alone knock sense/ control unit for only slightly more than the cost of an ms3pro-mini...

So making the mini a fail on cost if you want to not blow up a high performance engine.

Ms3pro-mini knock module?

Can the knock module be added to the ms3pro mini? Any boosted engine and almost anything made since ~1990 is knock limited, so its (imho) required for anything more than getting groceries. The fellow that made J&S Safeguard knock controls seems to have passed, so has that excellent option.(excep...

Iirc its a 2.1 board with connectors, so the plug pinouts were the biggest need.

Thank you.!

Thank you, my google-fu wasnt working for some reason

Those will greatly simplify reverse engineering the wiring etc.

*error board schematic?

Have found a good use for the first v1.01 board setup i built, fully sequential w/ external ignition/p&h driver box and an *error board for most of the "extra" i/o. Ran it for a couple years trouble free. (This just prior to general ms3/3x availabilty, but the cases were available) Was...

Re: Compiler build tools (2012)

Cool. Did not work in Debian 11. Looked for missing libs and came up dry. Probably operator error. Same issue with latest Ubuntu 22.04 on WSL2 on win 11, missing multiarch libs, although arch-test says kernel supports i386 etc. Wine, amusingly, works fine ;-) Worked fine in Mageia 9/Cauldron with ze...

Re: Compiler build tools (2012)

I'm not using it, found it better to run Windows in a VM when required so it has the desperately needed "undo" button snapshots provide. (some Linux distros have native snapshot support using btrfs, which still isn't ZFS but it seems to work these days) It has been awhile, but getting it w...

Re: Compiler build tools (2012)

Subsystem for Linux v2... if you are on Win11... should work, cygwin no longer needed, it would probably just get in the way.

true black background for dashboard?

Have never been able to get a true black background for a dashboard in TS, best it can do is medium gray.
In designer mode it goes true black with graticule lines, but when rendered in std mode its a dithered gray.
Am I missing something?

Looks reasonable.

I have to admit I have been running ms3/ms3x (or ms2/ms3x) a long, long time.

Re: Ramping up for 6 cylinder vintage motorcycle

Note that I run my car on a 36-2 wheel in my distributor about 30mm in diameter, started life as a rc truck spur gear. The 36-2 setup is due to an unexpected welder setting being on... MS firmware didnt mind. That is ALL you need timing wheel wise to run fully sequential on ms2e or ms3. My bike doe...

Re: Ramping up for 6 cylinder vintage motorcycle

Sequential allows individual cylinder fuel and spark trims on large tables. Problem solved. As to fuel economy... the biggest gain will not be from fuel control ...although with the big six, the off idle/light cruise fine control improvements are most critical... ...ahem.. The big performance and fu...

Re: Anyone know of a 3 or 6 channel external coil ignitor?

If you don't mind plug wires that VAG coil is the way to go. I picked up a pair of 4 channel Holley drivers and the matching mating connectors for the harness for my new Vanagon motor. basically 3 and a spare per side. ...a ez36d from 2016, going in my vanagon. jsiedlicki: Did you happen to get vvt ...

Re: Feature request: Tool to calculate lambda delay.

If you are using fuel cut (probably best) the pw will dive to zero, and the afr should jump dead lean almost vertically shortly thereafter. your afr sensor lags should be off (100) A great place to see that is in kangaboys thread, in his log at ~211 seconds.(load his tune in a new project, then the ...

Re: Feature request: Tool to calculate lambda delay.

cutting spark it will show a very sharp cutoff... perhaps set the wbo2 lag at 100?(no lag) My preference would still be a switch to cut injector or coil power momentarily, as you dont have to fiddle your tune to get data. The main thing to look for is the step change in afr value. If it looks gradua...

Re: Feature request: Tool to calculate lambda delay.

The easiest way to do it currently is using a second ve table set leaner or richer and using an input to table switch...
. ..ideally when doing high speed sdcard logging. I was sampling at ~400hz at one point with a fast class 10 card.

The delay each way (fuel leaner or richer) may differ.

Re: Feature request: Tool to calculate lambda delay.

Back when I was playing with the tune regularly, repeatedly saw that turning off all the advanced stuff than accel options that rely on the ve table while creating the ve table speeds things up and reduces headaches. I have also heard it doesn't matter, but it sure seems to. if your engine has the s...
