Re: Can't install firmware
Thank you James. I found that page shortly after making this post and worked through it. The current state of my problem is explained in this thread: http://msextra.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=131&t=39461&p=275546#p275546 I'll uninstall and reinstall the driver and start again from scratch ne...

Unable to Connect w/ TunerStudio
After much trial and error I was finally able to write the firmware to my ECU (MS2 V3.0 + MS3) ...... the MS3Loader concluded the session with: Wrote 172739 bytes Press Enter to Continue...... Immediately following the firmware load I followed the directions for opening a new project in TunerStudio,...

Re: Can't install firmware
Hmm... I'll have to try this out after I catch some zzzz'z. I just spent several hours trying to figure out why I couldn't communicate with the MS3 over a USB cable. Tunerstudio doesn't recognize any device at all. In the MSLoader, when I come to the point where the walk-through states: "Attemp...

Re: Honda/Acura J Series V6, Various Questions
Assembly is mostly finished and I'm trying to accomplish step 24 in the build manual. My JimStim does not have the R23 resistor, but since I do not have much off time from work I'm trying to make headway tonight anyway. I don't seem to be getting the readings I should. 24c) The reading I get on pin ...

Re: Honda/Acura J Series V6, Various Questions
That's a good point. Can anyone quantify the benefit of a higher-tooth-count wheel? It is imperative that my cam gears be adjustable; I took .030" of the head, am running reground cams, and will be spinning the motor an extra 1,200rpm. The idea is to bump peak hp up the range by ~20% so I will ...

Re: Honda/Acura J Series V6, Various Questions
Ok; it sounds like my "bare bones" option is to use these factory parts. The drawback is that the accuracy will vary as the belt stretches at higher rpm. This option also dictates that I be stuck with the non-adjustable sprocket or retrofit an adjustability function. The second option woul...

Re: Honda/Acura J Series V6, Various Questions
Thank you both very much for joining in a getting my thoughts steered in the right direction. The crank trigger wheel is a 12 trigger, non-missing tooth type. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/_Zxi5uBiDYZQ/TVdvMLFXK6I/AAAAAAAA9RE/cAWnGKkjhdQ/IMG_0890.JPG The manual states: "Non-missing tooth cr...

Honda/Acura J Series V6, Various Questions
Instead of filling the forums with countless questions, I'd like to keep this thread to have a central place to ask my questions. The J32A2 which I am installing in my MR2 uses two VR type cam angle sensors. I've attached images to show the sensors and the underside of the cam gear. https://lh3.goog...

Re: Knock Detection with variable sensitivity over RPM
So Knock Gaurd Lite will have one output to MS to trigger timing retard across the entire ignition system when knock is detected. You mentioned something about eventually having 8. Am I to understand that it will be able to trim the timing for individual cylinders?

Introduction - The JW11
I just purchased the MS3 unassembled kit, MSx expansion, and some other tid bits from DIYAutoTune and thought it reasonable to make a quick introduction over here. My name is Michael and I'm working on custom swap and engine build in my AW11 MR2. The engine is a J32A2 with a 3.5 litre rotating assem...
