Re: RB25 cas trigger loss >5300rpm

When I changed te setting flip ploarity on hi res tach / cam moved the problem from 5300 to 6800. So if you say that the cam signal is not used on higher RPM, it's intresting how it behaves like this. Thanks for input, I will mess around with the "crank" input and see the outcomes.

Re: RB25 cas trigger loss >5300rpm

Additionally, what I noticed was that RB25 NEO (from R34) the CAS sensor has different pinout. Basically wires are swapped and pinout of sensor is mirrored. Maybe James could add this information also to MS3 hardware manual? It would have saved quite a lot debugging time for me if it was there. In H...

Re: RB25 cas trigger loss >5300rpm

10k inline resistor did basically nothing. What helped alot was changing "Flip Polarity On Hi-Res Tach/Cam" to Normal. Still encountering misfire over 7000rpm now.

RB25 cas trigger loss >5300rpm

Hi! I've successfully installed MS3x on RB25 neo with stock CAS. However, I have a problem with trigger reading over 5k. Basically CAM trigger is basically lost and from logs I can see that I encounter trigger loss error 65. I cannot find any good documentation what does it mean. My next step would ...

Re: CA18det MS2v3 CAS cranking problems

It has been a long time. I have fully rebuilt engine now. About this case, I think I got it sorted it out finally. Things I did to solve this : - Correctly grounded whole engine (block, head and cas) to frame - Checked wireing from ECU to CAS - New direct power cable to battery - New microphone cabl...

CA18det MS2v3 CAS cranking problems

Hello, I managed to buy now an CA18det engine with MS2v3. Trigger is logged from original CAS with modified wheel inside. Will post MSQ and datalog later. Problem is that when I am cranking with starter, it gets sync errors, RPM jumps up and down. I am able to start car by starter. It starts misfire...

Re: Raspberry Pi and MegaTunix

Totally did not think about documenting this. However, I could upload fully workable image with automatically booting to fullscreen and running gauges only. I have installed display into my car dash and it was running nicely. At the moment I am unable to test it or show it because I've sold my ECU a...

Re: Raspberry Pi and MegaTunix

Yesterday I decided to try it again, so you can see fully working instrument panel on 7" TFT screen incar which is connected to MS via serial adapter. This was first try, later I got it working to load only instruments on cold boot without need of user input. Therefore, it peformed even faster ...

Re: Raspberry Pi and MegaTunix

Are there any updates or bypass methods about that glib error ? I'm also experiencing problems durning dash startup. The bypass is to use an older distribution. I haven't found a solution to the GLIB issue, to me it seems liek a GLIB bug, but it entirely possible its a very subtle threading bug in ...

Re: Upgrade MSI to MSII Lost sync status : 5 V2.2 pcb

Okay, I did some research on car, swapped sensor wires and now it's working quite nicely. Only problem I had, was sync error around 2000 rpm cruising. Suddenly Sync error and after that it didn't want to wake up, took about 50meters decelerating before engine started to response. ECU power was okay,...

Re: Upgrade MSI to MSII Lost sync status : 5 V2.2 pcb

Thank you for response.

So I must bypass LM1815 circuit (Hall sensor output to directly into ECU), if I'm corrent (Of course I need pullup resistor).

Re: Upgrade MSI to MSII Lost sync status : 5 V2.2 pcb

Last time problem was related to too small fuel quantity. I got that working, now problem starts again after swapping sensor to a new one. Seems quite hopeless to go over 4000rpm. I've searched and read this forum and used google. I'm planning to swap sensor with hall sensor. Is it okay to connect H...

Re: Upgrade MSI to MSII Lost sync status : 5 V2.2 pcb

So i got it to work when i added about 16k resistance(adjustable pot). Everything worked fine and smooth. Now after adding turbo, problem starts again. My question is, how could I replace my VR sensor to hall. What do I need to modify in circuit board and can I use it on 60-2 trigger wheel ? Thanks,...

Re: Upgrade MSI to MSII Lost sync status : 5 V2.2 pcb

After adding 10k resistor to VR sensor input, engine started perfectly. Revved to 5k rpm and same thing started. Should I add another resistor there ? 5k ohm etc ?
Altho mixture is very rich, going to work on in tomorrow perhaps.

Re: Upgrade MSI to MSII Lost sync status : 5 V2.2 pcb

I'm hope to get strobe by the end of week, so I can check timing. What about scope(You mean osciloscope, right?), that's a whole different story, I'm not sure I could lend one from someone. TunerStudio shows quite nice signal tho, but seems, that's not enough for ms2. Ill check the timing with strob...

Re: Upgrade MSI to MSII Lost sync status : 5 V2.2 pcb

Adjusting the gap did not solve anything, tried 1mm - 0.05mm. Maybe the sensor have gone "bad", or should I buy new sensor or new stock sensor and try with this ? Or should I modify my ECU to use hall sensor for second or replace my VR sensor input with hall input ? I have hall sensor inst...

I've tried this 0.6mm to 0.05mm, didn't help, but I'll check it maybe today.

Thanks Madis
