You could increase skip pulses a good bit and still sync (properly) pretty quickly. I would try to do some of that.

EAE is always active when enabled. It just reaches equalibrium when not in a transient condition.

They work together, though I would only add any time-based if you absolutely need it after tuning EAE.

Typically this is only needed on high-strung engines with big throttles or ITBs.

When I had a rotary engine car, I used to leave the OMP connected and working but force it to its minimum "throttle shut" flow. That way at least I'm getting something, and I can use overrun fuel cut.

ICE motors don't idle at stoich. (most)

This isn’t true. Most engines will idle fine at stoich if you have your tune smooth and your ignition timing right.
