I've noticed quite a few manual screenshots being made of MLV. I have simplified this by incorporating it into MLV. To create a screenshot of just the graph section you are currently looking at:
On the Menubar select "File-->Save Graph as PNG or Jpeg"
That simple:
The default format will be PNG if you are running on JRE 1.4 or newer, jpeg is all that is available on anything older.
The reason I have selected PNG as the default, for limited color images like a graph (compared to a photo) it will compress smaller and have NO LOSS of color or quality. Jpeg, while great for high color count photos looses a great deal of color and quality. The image will become blurred and less brilliant with Jpeg. That is just the way the jpeg compression algorithm works, it works much better than png for photos, but for graphs, png (or GIF) is far superior.

Just learning here, but png is the only option for saving the graph with v4.4.23
Please advise. Thanks, Ray

Yes, png is used because it is a lossless 32bit compression. When you view it, it will look like the original. Also as there are few colors, the file size is typically smaller than loss compressions like jpg.
Here is the same screen as a png and jpg. In this case the png is 38 KB, the jpg is over twice as big at 89 KB, notice how much better the PNG looks. So while jpg works fine for pictures from your camera, it is a poor choice for screenshots.
