Are quick views tied to a project or the software?
If I set the quick views in project X and then go to a project Y I can still select the quick views i have set in X but the fields are not right.
As as second question where are these quick views saved? can i take them to another computer or move them into different projects?

Re: Quick Views Q's
MLV doesn't save settings to a project, so they are saved to MLV user settings.
Is the 2nd project using a same/similar firmware so it has the same field naming?
You can export your settings under the file menu to put them on another computer.

Re: Quick Views Q's
it is looking at logs with earlier firmware than the project i set the quick view up on. i see some differences like "spark advance" vs "SPK:advance so i think that is it. I also realized that I need to reload the view because some of the fields that I have selected that still have same name like 'TPS' disappeared but reappeared on reloading the same quick view.
