VE analyzer Calcs...

Post by GBALIAS »

ok, i cant find info on this phenomenon ive come across.

for some reason, no matter what AFR values I enter in the table in VE analyzer, the calculated map has the same result.

example, lets say in a cell (tps 8bit Yaxis, RPM Xaxis) i have a fuel value of 145. in that same cell location the log files shows an afr OF 15:1, but i want it at 14:1. So the corresponding cell of the AFR table i enter the 14.0....when i do the analysis, I am returned with a new value.....however, why would i get the same value when i enter 11.0 in the same cell of the AFR table?

for some reason, it seems no matter what my AFR table says, it will still output the same calculated fuel map. variation of maybe +/- 1 point on the 255bit scale.

how is the analyzer taking into account my desired AFR if it always returns the same 'calculated' value?

that will have to wait until i get back home, but i didnt think that was needed to answer the question if it was a normal occurrence or not.

thanks!

That is not normal. Are you sure you are changing the target AFR in the table MLV is set to use for target AFR?

im pretty sure. i am changing the afr table within the VE analyzer on the right. the left shows the current fuel map thats being used. i am doing it the same way i did it many years ago, and it had worked fine as far as i remember.

then recently when i wanted to do some more tuning, i purchased the registered version and started tinkering again.

When i got home i rebooted everything and checked settings. the only thing i noticed strange was that i had wideband O2 at custom linear set to the LC1 specs of 0V=7.35AFR and 5V=22.39AFR. this is fine, but i noticed also i had the wideband lambda set to innovate LC1 default and i think it should be set to "OFF" correct? not sure if that made a difference. i then went back and started messing with the analyzer and when i changed the desired AFR table dramatically, i could verify that it was indeed adding/subtracting in the right direction. strange

i attached a datalog from 2007 buell through ecmspy. i have both outputs of LC1 set to 0-5V and the ECM feeding info straight through. i have the O2 disabled for the ecm to make adjustments. (plus i dont believe it will read anything other than NB signal). I see some drops in the AFR at a high rpm cruise that dont show themselves if i watch the gauge during that time. i actually think that the datalog reads richer for some reason. after a couple initial analysis, MLV wouldnt change the map very much so i ran that tune on the bike (desired tuned AFR was set to a range of 12.8-14.5). i then LATER installed the WB gauge to verify this and it turned out it was way off. i was running 14.5-almost 18:1 in nearly all the range. this prompted me to go back and redo everything and see where the problem lies.

i also attached the maps (i tune off of map 2, rear cyl) and a table with my desired AFR for the analyzer.

**when uploading my desired afr table, the file didnt go through due to this error: The upload was rejected because the uploaded file was identified as a possible attack vector.
