Megalog viewer upgrades

Post by sedd »

I get a message to load 4.0.04 on my main computer but it will not completed. This one is windows 8. I now have 4.0.02 version loaded.

Also I have an old XP system that will not load the 4.0.02, that version pops up as needing to be upgraded from my old one.

any ideas on what is wrong with either?

Yep after 3 tries it won't update on my 8.1 either. Was doing this updating as administrator also.

On my win 8.1 laptop I opened MLV as admin, it asked me to upgrade, it downloaded, installed, seemed to restart but the version was still 3.4.whatever, it asked me to upgrade and I selected no, as reading this thread it seems to head into a loop

I uninstalled MLV from control panel and installed from a manual download. Version now reports 4.0.xxx

Where is the change log? The change log page last update is in 2007. What has changed in this version? I was hoping to see better exposure of the status registers or the ability to see the IdleVE table in the Tuning Console, but neither seems to be added to this version

Not working for me on Windows 7 either. Had to type in the URL to download 4.0.04 manually.

I see the trouble...
That update was flagged for OS X only, so On windows you aren't supposed to be getting notified, but are.

For now I set it to update windows too.

I've found what looks to be a bug in 4.0.04 - the 'time' doesn't change as expected.

Is there somewhere I can download an older version that does show all of the digits? I'm trying to use this right now and it seems that I don't have any old copies stashed away locally.

I tried creating a calculated field
timex10
[Time] * 10

But it shows the time as 1.413 ?
[Time] *100 gives the same result too?

I like how the Optional Fields and Custom Fields are broken down into multiple menus. Fixed field Min and Max could do with the same.
It would be good if the Custom Fields had a field and function picker.

Yes, when I opened a log here, it showed the time field properly. However, opening the one you posted it did as your picture.
It turns out it is the large number of digits that made the formatter believe 1 significant digit to the right of the decimal place was sufficient.
So I don't believe this was new to version 4.

It would be good if the Custom Fields had a field and function picker.
Agreed, that is on the todo list.

What's the solution? I'm trying to investigate a customer's bug report and it is difficult without a time display to enough digits.

James,

I realize this is a bit of a hack, but I've got a text editor that has a "column mode" - I used it to chop off the first three digits of all the timestamps and it appears to fix the problem.

I just downloaded and installed 4.0.07, be great to know what has changed.

Like a change log
https://www.efianalytics.com/MegaLogVie ... geLog.html
Last updated at V2.85 22 Nov 2007.

I've paid for the licensed version, how about someone in developer land at least give the courtesy to say there isn't a change log any more.
