Problem with megalog viewer.

Purchased the Tunerstudeo megalog combo back in January. Tunerstudeo has worked fine but megalog doesn't work at all. Click on the short cut on the note book and the small screen come up for about 3 seconds then gone. The same thing happens when I've tried to read a data log in tuner studeo. I've uninstalled it and downloaded it several times. Any ideas?

How long did you wait? It takes about 20 seconds here after the small screen before the main screen comes up. Might take longer on a slower PC.

What version do you have? I assume it is a current 4.0.0X?
No Error, just nothing?
Are you launching from the start menu icon or by double clicking a log file?

What sort of PC is that? It shouldn't take that long. It used to be up before the splash screen was gone. I just tried it now and it is taking about 5 seconds longer. There may be a problem.

It's much the same on both my desktop and laptop - neither new, both running Win7. Takes longer first time it is used after the PC is booted. If I load it again, more like the 5 seconds you say.

It really shouldn't be taking that 5 sec even. I need to look into this.

This is on a new ASUS notebook w/Windows8. I've tried to double click on the shortcut to the desktop and by going through the Tunestudeo data log. The little screen come up for about 4 seconds then disappears. This morning I waited until the computer went to sleep. It is the current download you offer. Thanks.

Sorry back to your original issue. If it is never coming up, then load time isn't the issue.

Are you using the 32 bit installer?

Do you have a JRE installed or just on the bundled Java?

I don't have a JRE download other than the one that is bundled with it? Or do you mean you are using the link to the oracle site and installing that JRE?

if you did install a JRE, what happens if you go to the dir;
c:\Program Files\EFIAnalytics\MegaLogViewer\

and double click on MegaLogViewer.jar

When I double click on the Executable megalog JAR file I get a white screen with MegaLogViewer MS 4.0.07 across the top, MegaLogViewer in the center,file search view etc in the upper left. Thanks for registering in lower left. I used your link to Java.

I just discovered that if I open the white screen I can run the saved data logs. I just can't run them from Tuner Studeo. I have to go to the MegaLogViewer JAR file to get it to come up.

It sounds like the app isn't opening with the working directory set, but I can't be sure with your vague responses.

I'm not a computer person so I'm sorry you can't understand me. When I'm in tuner studio and data loging a run and want to view it with MegaLogViewer I open the data log and a small efianalylitic screen pops up in tuner Studeo for about 4 seconds then disappears, if I go into my c drive files and double click on MegaLogViewer jar file MegaLogViewer come up and I can run the data logs that are saved. I really don't know what else I can tell you with my limited computer knowledge.

I just want to know what you are actually seeing on your screen. No computer skills needed.
Is it truly a completely blank white space?

Are you really running version 4.0.07? Is that what it says in the title bar?

No it's not blank. It is the MegaLogViewer screen. It says MegaLogViewer MS 4.0.07 in the title bar. It's the real deal but the only way I can bring it up is as I said through my c drive. Not through TS or with the short cut. Thanks.
