MegaLogViewer for dummies

I need some help getting MegaLogViewer HD running on a Mac running OS X Yosemite.

After downloading, I can't find a MLV icon. I can get it to run by opening the HogLogViewer.jar file, but should there be a MLV icon?

I have TunerStudio running well, but can't get any of my logs to open in MLV HD.

Is there a manual you can point me towards? Or is there something simple, (or not so simple) that I'm missing?

Did you download the "OS X" installer or the "Non-Windows" installer? What happened when you installed the .pkg file?

I downloaded the OSX file and do not see a .pkg file in the downloaded files.

Below are all the files that were in the download for MegaLogViewerHD. Should there be a .pkg file that I am missing?

Is there something I should be doing with one of these existing files?

I still can't open MLV to view logs. What is the problem? I'm new to macs and not sure where to go to get this working.

Oh, I missed that you were talking about the "HD" version, not just the "MS" version.

I downloaded HD on my Mac just to see and like you said, opening HogLogViewer.jar launches it. From there I was able to go File > Open and open the logs in my "DataLogs" folder.

Do you have a registered copy of HD or just MS?

I got a registered version of HD.

From HogLogViewer, when I click on "open", nothing happens. It gives no opportunity to locate a file to open.

From TS, when I click on a file to open and select open with MegaLogViewer, I get a message saying that MLV can't be found.

Suggestions?

Try installing the legacy version of Java here:

If that doesn't work, go back to the latest version of Java here:

http://www.java.com/en/download/mac_download.jsp
