HD v4.1.01 loading log problem

Post by cdot31 »

I have Shadow Dash setup to log on connect to log my 35min ish drive home so the logs come out to be about 30-40mb in size and since updating to Megalogviewer HD v4.1.01 it takes forever to load a log file that big.

Has anyone else seen this behavior? I tried uninstalling and reinstalling thinking that something went wrong during the update but still the same.

This is a log from my drive in to work this morning. https://www.dropbox.com/s/8cuu12i2300zt ... 5.msl?dl=0

What is a long time?

I just loaded that file, it took 7.3 seconds.

File load time =7.368 sec. 58240 rows.

If it is taking a way longer time, my bet would be there is some type of error occuing.

Can you send me the MegaLogViewerMSLogFile.txt file from the directory:

It would take about 30sec if there were no graphs up on a load and around a min if there where 4or 5 graphs up at load.

It may be something with my PC as I now can not even get MLV to even start.

Here is my log file.

30 sec doesn't sound so bad... I got the 7 sec on my development box which is a bit of a work horse (i7 Skylake @ 4.4Ghz, SSD, 32GB RAM).

But looking through your log, there is something not right..
Just to be sure I loaded the log with 4.0.20 also to compare times, pretty much the same.

It looks like some auto update never completed properly and you have a runtime.zip file stuck in the install dir. Each time it starts it is trying to install that but fails either because it is no longer in admin mode or the file is only part there.

Also there is another exception occurring, that I am not sure what it is from. It would be interesting if you rename the file:
hlv.properties

from that same dir as MegaLogViewerMSLogFile.txt.

But looking back through your MegaLogViewerMSLogFile.txt, it looks like the 30s isn't too different from some times with 4.0.19 and 4.0.20. It does seem it was a bit quicker as I go back in time though.
Do you have many Calculated or Optional Fields turned on? They will slow load time some.

So I uninstalled MLV completely inculding deleting all the files in the .efianalytics folder and reinstalled the oldest installer I could find on my PC and then let it auto update to 4.1.01 and now it will open the same log in about 25sec. so not too bad now.

Here is my new log file.
