MLV Registration questions

Post by Six_Shooter »

Is there a limit to the number of MLV registered copies that can be active at any one time like TS?

The reason I ask is because I downloaded MLV to my desktop tonight, registered it with my registration info that I have and noticed that there's no way to remove that registration that I can see if need be. TS has this option, but don't see it in MLV.

So is there no limit or is there a way to remove registration that I'm not seeing?

Thanks

It is limited the same.
If a Registration is no used on a PC for 30-60 days, that PC rolls off the count.

So there's no way for a user to manually remove registration though, like there is for TS?

TS removes the registration, but it does not remove the PC from the count, that still takes time.
In MLV if for some reason you need to remove the registration, you can delete the file:

Cool, thank you.

I don't need to do this currently, but wanted to know in case I did need to in the future.

So am I understanding correctly that if I have 3 devices with TS registered I can not simply remove registration from one device to then register a 4th device (still only 3 registered at a time) immediately afterwards, I still need to wait the time period for that device to "fall off" the count?

Correct, if you do need to bump one off the count early, you can contact support <at> efiAnalytics. com

Ok, so what's the point in being able to remove the registration manually then, if we need to wait the time period, or contact you?

I mean many times the registration would need to be removed simply due to a device upgrade or replacement. The need to still wait seems a be pointless does it not?

It seems this topic has moved a bit away from MLV, and more towards TS, but as I understand the same registration criteria seem to apply from how I'm understanding this...

If this topic should be split and moved to the TS forum or start a continuing thread there I can start one, but might not make much sense without linking back to this one anyway.

But on the topic of registration I have noticed TS MS Ultra, and I'm thinking about the upgrade to it, how does that effect existing registered TS MS instances for the end user? I would assume it's a whole new license with 3 devices allowed under the ultra licence, or would I have to wait or have previous registrations force removed?

I'm not trying to be argumentative, I can see how what I'm typing could be construed that way, and seem to be often mistaken for being that way, I'm simply trying to understand how this works and what I may need to do when I need to upgrade hardware or reinstall an OS.

I'd guess if you could switch the registration instantly, you could land a copy to a friend for a day or whatever then get it back.
Being able to have three active without paying extra for site use etc seems to me pretty generous. Better than most commercial software.
