Maximum log file size?

Post by E4ODnut »

What is the maximum log file size that MLVHD can handle?

That depends on a few things...
- How Many fields are in the log
- 32 bit vs 64 bit
- How Much RAM is on your PC

For a quick test I just used an MS3 data log with 517598 records. It is 241MB.

Just starting MLV nmormal, it crapped out about 2/3's through.

By starting it with the command:
java.exe -Xmx2048m -Xms1024m -jar HogLogViewer.jar

To allow it to use up to 2GB of RAM, then it loads it right up.

However, what I need to look into is that the exe should have been using the larger memory start up command on it's own with a computer that has 16GB of RAM. I need to look into why it didn't.

It appears the exe is detecting and setting memory right on my windows 7 computer, but not my Windows 10 computer.

Thanks for the quick response Phil. I don't think file size will be an issue for me because I doubt that I will even come close to 200 megs.
