MLVHD Histogram

Post by exodus454 »

Hi,

I've been using MLVHD for a general log reader for awhile now, and I was wondering is there any way to make the histogram display "last" values? I've tried looking through all the help files, a bunch of the *.properties files in the install directory and I can't seem to find a way of doing it. I was thinking maybe it could be done by in-line filter but I haven't been able to figure out a decent solution. I wanted to ask here first before sinking a bunch of time into setting something up that already exists elsewhere. If MLV can't do it I'll have to retreat to Excel I guess..

Thanks

What do you mean by last value?

Do you mean when running VEAL and then opening the log later, can you display the VE's near the end of the log and ignore what you were getting for VE early in the log?

In the histogram table is there any way to not show mean values and instead show the last values recorded for each cell? IE when loading the log have each data point overwrite the previous in that cell?

No, there currently isn't a way to do that.

How would you see that working and what would you use it for?

I imagine you would want filters to prevent random values.
How about windowing to control how centered a value needed to be to be counted.

I'm still not sure I understand the use case where the last single value to hit a cell would be of much use.
