Logging HP & Torque

Post by anastos »

Hi all,
I am not having any success logging HP and torque. I have VSS1 & VSS2 working well, can log MPG etc, but no HP, no Torque
Running MS3 with MS3X, version 1.5.0, Tuner Studio version 3.0.22, MLV version MS4.1.12.
Attached are MSQ, Log example, & screenshot of MLV.
I would appreciate any advice you might have on how to get it working.

Thanks,
Dave W

Yes, it does seem miss those in SD logs. They work with regular data logs.

I don't believe there is a valid reason they shouldn't work in SD logs. I will look into it.

Any updates to address the HP & Tq logging to SD card?

This should be resolved with TunerStudio 3.0.28 that is currently in beta.

I had a chance to get the car on the track with the latest TS & MLV software and HP & torque are now logging via sd card. Thanks for getting that going :D .
The hp & torque data is however somewhat sporadic i.e. a lot of fluctuation during steady hard acceleration. Is this normal or should I be seeing fairly steady traces?
Is there a way to get more consistent readings with a filter algorithm or some other method?

It is all based on delta VSS, any variation in that gets very amplified in the power.

There is already a good bit of smoothing going on with that, but it looks like you need more.

You can do that in MLV.
It does seem it would be good to make the amount of smoothing adjustable in TS.

Thanks

If you create a delta VSS1 field, how jittery is it? It should show a correlated bounce.

Can you post that log for to try a few things.
