MLV HD 4.2.01 struggling with Composite logger?

Post by SwedCharger-67 »

Attached is a screen shot showing a strange 1 second empty log in the Composite logger.
Same empty window both in TS and MLV HD.
Engine was idling normally all the time, with some light throttle a few times, no disturbance in the engine behavior, running perfectly.

I have seen similar empty periods showing up in the Sync Error logger. Two different laptops have been used, both show the same thing.

The last log you posted had a page that looked similar to that.

As you see the data is showing the same thing as the graph, so I think your question is how did the long data point get in there.

Did you potentially have a sync issue at that time?
If not, it would seem there is a bad record in the data. That would be either TunerStudio or the firmware.

A comm debug log captured at the same time as the composite log would help narrow that down.

Have you captured any sync error logs trying to debug your sync issue?

Hi Phil,
no, I did not have any sync issues during the recording of the log...those appear only just above 4krpms.

I will try to capture new error logs...but I don't see any Comm Debug option among the logging options...TS v3.0.28, FW 1.5.0

The Comm Debug is under the Communications menu.

When that is on all communication with the controller is written to the TunerStudioAppDebug.txt

Ok, the sync error problem is solved simply by implementing a suitable software noise rejection filter on the crank sensor. I've tried it before but must have done something wrong since I at that time I didn't get it to work properly.

Now the engines revs as happily as the owner/builder jumps! For the first time I noticed that I had set the rev limiter too low.

The Sync Error log is empty, as the Sync Error counter in TS, and there is nothing to see.

The Comm Debug logger shows errors of various kinds, some seem to be related to the inner workings of the MS3X/TS.

Phil, let me know if you would like me to email you the Comm Debug file.
