I found out something strange. My crank sensor shows a signal when I swipe it across a peice of metal but when I plug the crank sensor back into its position in the engine block and crank the engine the logger doesnt show any signal.

maybe the gap between the sensor and trigger wheel is to big?

That's what I thought too but I am using the factory sensor, and I just bought a new one.

so what has changed? do you get rpm with the old sensor?

No nothing from the old or new sensor unless its outside of the car, not when its in and the engine is cranking.

have you checked your getting voltage to the sensor while cranking, in the tooth log is it completely blank during cranking? is the only change since it ran the new coils as could unplug them to see if that helps with the rpm reading?

:( :( now i am getting some signal. ts shows cranking signal and 50-130 rpm. tried the 1k 1/2watt, 10k accross the vr+ vr- resistor. but the engine still don't start.

could i used IGN1 IGN2 as batch fire to run 2 coils reach?

are you getting full signal is it syncing up or not? and no it wouldnt be advised to run mone than one coil per output. post a log and msq a tooth log may help to

its syncing , but i am not seeing the tooth log. that screen is still blank

interesting, so when cranking you get a steady rpm reading that does not drop out. are the coils wired correctly in firing order?

when cranking sometimes it freeze, but the coils are wireed


1-3-4-2 firing order would connect A=1, B=3, C=4, D=2

ign2 = 3
wled = 4
Aled = 2

well the settings look correct, and the coils are wired correct and all spark then it should work, unless there is something else going on. log time.

if you existing setup works fine on the vw engine management there is no reason it shouldn't work fine on megasquirt.
