Well, thanks to the new 4/2 CAS decoder, I have a runner. Thanks a lot for supporting this silly wheel!

Yep, thanks to the new alpha codes I'm running on MS2extra with my Volvo 360, using the Volvo B200E engine, which, unlike the B200s fitted to the 700s and 900s has a Renix style flywheel.

Once Ken gets his TPSdot map lag factor code working I'll hopefully be moving to EAE too ASAP.

Hi all,
Running my V8 in wasted spark mode with a 36-1 wheel, using a couple of the outputs for power steering, coolant fan, etc, using code from CVS which is 16x16 VE Table, thats rather large!!!!

Well done James and Ken, fantastic job,
Phil

I just flashed my spare MS2 ecu with the latest alpha (20070610), setup the tune on the stim with similar settings to my B&G 2.862 code, plugged it up in the car and it fired first go!. Will persist with getting the tune right as time/weather permits.

Good job guys!

BMW E30 M3 with aluminum 2.8L M50 motor. Car weighs about 1800 pounds. Loaded MSII Extra in vain hope of fixing 60-2 wheel problems; left it installed when harness problem was fixed.
Car is insanely fast.
Note this car has clutch flywheel assy that weighs a total of 8 lbs (flywheel is 3 pounds)
Used EAE settings out of the box (as Ken suggested) and car is very driveable on track.
I'm co-sponsoring this car and the car's owner is delighted with the install even if he doesn't completely understand "Every tooth decoding" :)

I'm still carsick from the instructer session sat at VIR.

One datalog, a bunch of fuel added and the car is even faster.

Great job everyone; especially EAE code which really works without dinking with as Ken says.
Note we'll still try to tune EAE, but the car has suspension issues so it's not high on the list. And heck, it runs great now.

:D

Edit: this car was super fast but was crashed at VIR in Oct 2007 when it spun on some coolant left by a Porsche. It's been partially rebuilt but is now up for sale and not sure it's future.

Hello all!

I got my antique running MS2 Extra - Ford 250CI six, TFI, PWM idle, etc. Runs well enough for now, needs lots more tuning. Fuel map had to be changed from standard MS2, but I love the new features (like shut throttle fuel cut - I have mine set to 1000rpm!). The prime pulse is great too - the motor starts first go with our 5-10degree (celcius) mornings. I plan to go EDIS6 very soon, but have to make the trigger wheel first.

Thanks guys, great effort! I don't know where you find the time!

Kendall.

I just passed emissions yesterday in Georgia running MS2 extra with my turbocharged 1984 BMW 533i.

I am running the stock coil and distributor and a bmw e34 60-2 trigger wheel with VR sensor. The car is pretty quick right now running 8lbs of boost....should be a bit faster as I work my way up to 16lbs. The car is running very well and is quite reliable as I am driving it every day now. I haven't started playing with EAE yet, but I hope to soon.

I need to sort out some fuel economy issues, but that may be mostly due to my heavy right foot with the turbocharged engine. :D

Just an update - I just got EDIS 6 working on the old Falcon (250ci inline 6, pushrod, factory efi manifold etc.) and it is streets ahead of the old tfi system. I have not done any more tuning to fuel or spark yet, but I know there is more power and economy in it yet!

Thanks for the great work guys!

Just got through swapping the Explorer to MS2extra beta 8.

I gotta say, the PWM closed loop idle really works. First I tried it and it was hunting badly, closed down the P% and the D a little, and now it's better than stock...way better. I can turn on the A/C and the engine slows about 50rpm, then goes right back up to the setpoint, same with putting the truck in gear, doesn't miss a beat either, and I haven't even turned on EAE yet!

I've still got some datalogging and tuning to do, but I have to say, I'm happy with it. Everyone involved in getting the code to this level has done a brilliant job!!

2000 Mustang Cobra Running

Post by Al Thomas »

We have a 91 mustang body with a 2000-2003 Cobra 32 valve V-8 running 100% Ethanol with a v3 board and MS2 Extra code. It runs great after a learning curve and a fair amount of tuning. I love the enhanced idle features and the engine runs better than with the MSII base code.

We have the Innovate wide band and I dont know why but the response time of the O2 gage in the Megatune interface has improved greatly.

We are using

160lb injectors
speed density
10.9:1 compression ratio
long tube BBK headers
4r70w trans w/baumann TCS
relay board
currently EDIS but moving to COP
Many other parts and accessories on the engine

1991 BMW 325ix with M20 stroker, running beta6. put about 4,000 miles on it with MS2/e alphas/betas - it's running very well.

I'm up about 10-15hp and 15-20 ft/lbs over the stock ECU. it's smoother in the lower end (I can go down to idle in 5th gear and still accelerate), much better top end. PWM closed loop idle works fantastic, only thing left for me to do is setup EAE and fine tune my VE map.

looking forward to the final 2.0 release!
