Converted my 1973 Land Rover Series 3 109 with stock 2.25L 4 banger to MS2/Extra. Using TBI and fuel only currently.

Just trying to tune all the stumble out of the engine right now. Everytime I go out for a tuning run, I learn something new.

Newbie here. First post.

I just got my V8 Fiero running a few weeks ago. Still have a lot of tuning to do. Also need to clean up the wiring, plumbing, etc. You could call it a work in progress.

SBC 350
AFR 190 street heads
Crane Powermax 2040
Accel intake
Holley 1000cfm TB

Injectors are Lucas 009 - 42lbs. Plan is to generate dual fual maps for E10 and E85.

Running an old v2.2 MS1 PCB with the MS2 upgrade module. Code is MS2/Extra 3.4.2

Idle is smooth as glass at 700rpm. Plan to change that by installing a retro-roller bump stick with a bit more duration and overlap this winter.

Thanks. Yes, I used the basic V8Archie kit.

Forgot to mention that part of the plan is to ditch the MSD distributor and ignition box and use MS2 to control timing. Looking at EDIS :RTFM:

Still have some tuning to do but it all runs fairly well now. I'm running a ford 302 with gm TBI, ls2 coils ms2 extra for control. As well as a gpio for the 4r70w. First time using this system and I love it. Picture was taken during install so it's a bit of a mess.

1971 Datsun 1200 Coupe with A12/A14 modified engine (1321 cc).

I have since ditched the distributor and replaced it with an EDIS setup with MS2 v3.0 board.
The engine consists of the A14 blocks, A12 crank, custom length Carillo rods, Wiseco pistons, 14:1 static CR, Elgin cam, +9,500 redline, twin 44 Mikuni PHH carbs, Tilton clutch, Quartermaster flywheel, large oval port head (39 mm intake, 33 mm exhaust). Dynoed at 165 HP at 9,500 RPM.
I have another engine ready to be dropped into the car. It's a true A14 with 78.5 mm bore (1494 cc) with basically the same setup as the 1321 cc engine running 14:1 CR.

The engine needs 110 octane racing fuel. Kind of expensive to run, but the performance is sure nice.
The Mikunis are highly tuned and respond very well throughout the throttle opening range. Absolutely no stumbling whatsoever under very light acceleration and rapid acceleration across the entire RPM range. The biggest help in achieving the crisp throttle response was to go with Kameari jet blocks instead of the standard OA jet blocks. The Kameari offers much better response and much better distribution of bleed holes in the emulsion tubes.
Jet Blocks.png
The OA style jet block is on the left side of the photo with the Kameari to the right.
BTW, the effectiveness of the Kamerari is highly governed by the tune of the engine, meaning that you will not see as much improvement on a mild and/or stock engine build.

I may consider adding an individual throttle body system this winter if I can find a reasonably price system. I really don't want to use my existing intake manifold and weld injector ports and go with a single throttle body. Further research needs to be done at my end.

Cheers

Nice to see the difference in bleed holes.
As for ITB's check out on motorcycle ITB's.
There is a forum item about it, just to get some idea's. :RTFM:

What type of fuel injectors would provide the best performance? Sequential?

To be honest I don't know.
Might be best to choose a type or brand which is widely available to you or your region.

Maybe best to post this question in the "general"part of this forum.
Put all the details on engine setup in your post, it narrows the answer.

Going to add one of my cars to this list, since replacing the engine a week and a half ago I can actually drive (previous engine was so bad mechanically that it would barely run, even with the MS).

!923 T-Bucket, originally built by my Uncle and Grandfather back in the late '70's

There's a long story behind this car, but to keep it shorter, my uncle and I were rebuilding it from the mid '90's to his unexpected passing in 2002. After that my Grandfather and I worked it on and off starting in about 2003 or so up until earlier this year when my Grandfather gave it to me, instead of waiting for it to be willed to me...

Anyway, I converted it to EFI when I had two Holley Blue pumps die on me in a week and was fed up with the carb anyway. I started off with a Delco '7747 ECM, because I knew it would have been close to start with and had lent both of my WBO2 sensors out to friends so I didn't feel confident trying to tune an MS on a NB...

Anyway, MS2 running GM TBI components, including small cap dizzy, 5.0 or 5.7 throttle body. I made an adapter harness to go between the GM connectors and the MS. The MS works well, still needs some fine tuning, but for the short amount of time I have into the MS tuning it runs very well.

Bigger a badder injection is planned for the future, just need to finish modifying the intake. MUahahaha

I guess I voted but never posted up what I have. It is a 1973 triumph spitfire with a toyota 4age, silvertop ITBs on the 16v engine. Engine itself is currently stock. Ran for about a year on AN tuning alone and finally today I got around to changing to ITB mode. Used a data log from driving home from work so it covered street and highway to get the 90% baro line. Had to lean out a good sized portion of the map since its going there for the MAP portion. But once I did that and drove about 15 miles with VEAL on all of my low speed, low throttle jerkiness is gone. So easy I don't know why I didn't do it sooner. Also got a 0-60 time while I was out and it was 6.9 seconds. Not fast, but very quick compared to stock.

I've got my 1989 Mustang 2.3 turbo running on an MS2 I built. It's a slow process but I love saying "I did that". :D

I have my L28et 280z running on MS2 3.4.2. I will continue to tweak the tune, but if it never got any better it is still be a really great running car. :D
