Early days but I have this 1998 ford 4.0 ohc straight 6 running on MS2. Its all factory except a cam and headers. Broadband manifold is controlled by a programmable output. MS is driving the IAC, wasted spark coilpack, radiator fan and factory tacho.

Add another MS2'd vehicle to the list...

1973 Datsun 240Z, with a GM LX9 swap, plus a turbo. :D

I previously had pretty much the same combo (newly assembled engine, with a couple small internal modifications) on a Delco 1227749 using a custom modified code called Code59. It ran well, very well and would have stuck with it, but wanted to get more hands on with Megasquirt. Plan is to go to MS3, which I have the daughter card, but need to find a case, and expansion card. The harness I made for the current setup is set up for an MS3X, but made an adapter to to use the MS2/MS3Base.

Anyway...

MS2 V3.0 3.4.2
GM LX9 (3.5L V6)
Early GM 60 degree V6 DIS ignition
Turbo from a 6.5L diesel
Custom intercooler, made from a pair of Turbo Coupe intercooler cores
Custom forward facing headers, 3" exhaust, Moroso Spiroflow muffler

Power is pushed through a Nissan FS5R30A transmission, back to an R200 currently.

The car is extremely fun and really has too much power for the current suspension, but when has that ever stopped someone from finding more power? lol

Hi All
Thought Id add my project.
Its a 1981 Ducati 900 SSD. Ive had this bike since new.

Image

MicroSquirt ECU/MS2-E. Currently configged as TPS for fuelling and MAP for ignition. It just likes it that way!
Single VRS looking at a custom 24/1 crankwheel
TTRIgnitions QuadraMap 2 channel MAP sensor. Phasing for cyl 1 coming from the QuadraMap.
Generic 40mm butterfly type throttle bodies with 250cc injectors
45L/Hr fuel pump
Continental ethanol (flex fuel) sensor
Nissan FPR (no vac sense) @38psi
Accel coils x 4 (twin plug heads) triggered by a Bosch 200 2 channel trigger igniter
Ford 2 wire idle valve
Generic "GM" CT and AT sensors
AEM WBo2
Comms via bluetooth adapter.

The bike has been extensively modified over its 35 year life with me and electronic fuel injection is the final piece of the puzzle.

Fuel injection is something I have wanted to do for decades but had never gotten around to it.
After quite a bit of dicking around, the stock dual VRS sensor were junked due to excessive noise and a VRS sensor from a Kawasaki KLR650 was fitted with a 24-1 wheel fashioned from an industrial chain sprocket to time the whole show.
The 40mm throttle bodies were sourced from a Chinese supplier and adapted to the engine using Ducati Monster rubber manifold stubs.
The engine starts easily and runs reliably from dead cold to stinking hot on a coarse startup tune and finer ECU mapping is well underway. The flex-fuel function works well and this twin plug, high compression engine loves the metho!!!

Im extremely happy with the outcome so far despite the very early days in tuning.

My only issues so far is some slight scratchiness at lower rpm, right off idle that is proving very difficult to map out and some occasional ECU resetting when running with the tablet online.

Cheers
Evan

Nice to see your project !
Is this a current picture ?
Always had a weak spot for those bevel driven Dukes.

I've recently upgraded to MS2 in order to try out the ITB mode. My Spyder Silverstone has a Toyota 3SGE engine to which I have fitted GSXR750 throttle bodies.
I have removed one tooth from the top wheel in the distributor which gives a 24-1 missing tooth configuration. It runs Nippondenso COPs, sequentially fired.
The MS2 upgrade was done by Phil at ExtraEfi.
I initially used my existing AlphaN ve table and did some data logging to derive my ITB curves. I also did a quick SD tune to give me some idea of values to put in the lower half of the table.
I have left the second ITB curve at 50% across the board and it seems to be OK. I run "incorporate AFR" but not "multiply map" as I have a map referenced FPR anyway.
I found it useful to overlay the first ITB curve onto my AlphaN ve table as the values along the curve should give you the values to put into the ITB table along the 50% load line. I think.
Anyway, I have done a couple of VEAL sessions and it is coming along nicely. It feels smoother to drive around town ( in the SD region) and throttle pickup is quicker and I haven't tuned the AE yet.
It doesn't need much AE anyway. Up in the the AN region the car goes like stink, like it always did.
I tuned the injection timing at idle and found that the best result was to inject during inlet valve opening. This runs contrary to opinion but it works on my install.
There are a couple of areas where VEAL is struggling so I will do some logging and manual tuning for those.
All in all, Im very pleased with MS2 so far. The car ran very well on MS1 AlphaN and I wasn't sure that MS2 could improve on it.
But it has.

I've got a 1990 mustang with a 72mm turbo 306ci on MS2V3.57 and also a 1987 with a one-off TBI on a Weiand 174 roots blower run by MS2V3.57. Fine-tuning the turbo car and just getting the blower car fired now after the build. Loving the systems so far!

I just got my 1992 Honda VFR400 NC30 running on Microsquirt V3. Throttle bodies from a GPz1100, 68g/min Bosch injectors from an Opel 1.2L, dual SLC OEM wideband controllers, QuadraMap, and custom made fuel rail, idle air valve and fuel pump housing. It still needs tuning but after only a few test rides it runs pretty well in cruise, so I'm hopeful. The full story is on my blog.

Nice piece of work especially that bracket wich keeps the ITB's together.

I run the same ITB's on my bike and using IPW injectors from Magneti Marelli.

Can you post a picture of the ITB linkage ?

Needs also some adjustment in 1500-2500rpm area.

Dear AIXX,

I am switching to Audi ABZ engine for my bowler tomcat. ( Rallyraid car )

Do you have / can I use your map for my initial startup?

CrazyDave wrote:OK after some big style hair pulling out I finally got MSII Extra running on my VR6 Turbo.

Initial running seems very good but I'll have to wait until tomorrow to give it a good drive around.

I found the new ASE % of req-fuel table confusing, but only because I hadn't read James' notes properly (and noticed that it wasn't in ms anymore!).

For anybody else needing info for a VR6 here are my based trigger wheel settings.

Setup for a VR6 is as follows:
Trigger wheel settings
Single wheel with missing teeth
60 Teeth
2 missing
78 Degrees BTDC
Crank Wheel

Ignition Options
Trigger offset 30deg (This doesn't seem to move the timing at all???)
Skip Pulses 7
Falling edge
Toothed Wheel
Going Low
Wasted Spark
Output D14

VR6T for the WIn!!!! I had a nice setup that put down 424whp on MS I a few years back. Let me know if you have any questions I have been down the VR6T rabbit hole a few times.

Just voted for my second string Corrado 1.8t running MS II. Made 311whp on the dyno and decided not to turn the boost up any more on stock internals.

BMW 3.5 litre inline 6 with MS2extra (from Phil at ExtraEFI, great work, perfect service)
Wasted spark, semi sequential, ITB setup, MAP + TPS mode, Bosch fuel pump, Weber FPR, compression ratio 11.5 :1, Camshaft 308° 12.2mm lift, home made loom.
Started at the first try, with just some initial tuning it idles well and has spotaneous pick up. Has not been driven because of some secondary (non engine/ ECU related) parts missing.

Hi, Yup
Suzuki DRZ400 SM (single cylinder 400cc water cooled). Keihein 36mm throttle body, 400cc injector (from an LTZ400), Custom made flywheel 18-1 and MicroSquirt ECU. Running in ITB mode with sequential fuel and wasted COP. Innovate LC-2 O2 for data collection and tuning.
IMHO - ITB mode is a very clever bit of code!
