FAQ: 65535 rpm and pulsing fuel pump - what's that?

65535 rpm displayed and a fuel pump pulsing on and off is the code telling you that you have made a configuration error in your settings.
It has NOTHING to do with the hardware, so don't start cutting wires or questioning sensors or anything like that.
FIX YOUR SETTINGS.
The most common errors are a conflict on output pins, e.g. you have stepper idle enabled but also set a tacho output on the same pin. It is impossible to use the same physical pin for two things so the MS2 stops and tells you there is a configuration error.
TunerStudio will often pop up a message box showing you what the configuration error is.
If you are seeing 65535 rpm, but no message, go to Communications and Mini Terminal. Then turn your Megasquirt off then back on again. You will see a message displayed telling you why the code found a problem with your settings.
