Triple table fonction

Post by m_mathieu »

Hi
MS2 extra on a fully built vr6 turbo

I want know if it's possible to run VE2 back to back with VE1?

I want do the same thing as VE1/VE3 but with VE2
My plant is:

VE1 500 to 3000rpm (20kpa to 275)
VE2 3000 to 7500rpm (20kpa to 275)
This map switch by rpm

and VE3 500 to 3200rpm (20kpa to 100)
This map switch by hardware

I want do this for run best fuel economy in VE3 and great street running
VE1 and VE2 for race, precision tuning and big resolution table

It's possible? or you have a better solution?
thanks

yes but it works a little differently, and if you want to use VE2/VE3 for the same RPM/load areas, you'll have to disable one or the other.

to use VE2 like that you need to enable secondary load and set it to additive. Change the last column of VE1 to all 0s, and the first column of VE2 set to all 0s. The last RPM bin of VE1 (the one with all 0s) should be the same RPM as the first column of VE2 with values. VE2 is just like that, only the first RPM bin of VE2 will be the same RPM as the last column of VE1 that has values.

The reason you do this is because you are adding both tables together, if you have values in the last column of VE1 and the first column of VE2 they will be added to the entirity of the other table. If you want to use VE3 now you'd just disable secondary load and change your RPM switch point to the last column of VE1 that has values.

Hopefully that was somewhat clear... it's easier if you see what a table set up for VE1/VE2 looks like!

Otherwise, I'm not really sure why you want to do this. The areas of your map that you use in race conditions are all in the upper RPM, high KPA range, where cruise will be mid-RPM, 30-50kpa or so (maybe more on a turbo car). There's no real reason to have a seperate tune for race and street, the whole point of a 3d VE map is you can tune each RPM/Load site exactly as it needs to be.

ok, thanks for your fast answer

I do an example (Don't check the numbers, they are not real)
Can you said me if it's exactly what you said

More I think about that, more I think it's overkill

Now, I have a new idea

What do you think about this:

This is possible?
I think it's a better idea

My mind is:
I run VE1 and VE2 for race etc...
and run VE3 for fuel economy to go job (I switch to VE3 with my switch on dash)

Good mind or useless?

Having the 0% as the top load reading will break the table lookups.
