Are you getting any RPM indication in Tuner Studio when cranking?

If not, has your v3.0 board been configured for hall sensor input?

This input circuit has worked well with hall sensors.

Ignore the spare input comment in the upper left (pin 24 will be your crank signal input)
Also ignore the JS10 comment as this example is for a cam sensor.

What VW 2.0 16v engine is it exactly ? What engine code ?
And where are you picking your ignition signal from ? Crank or cam sensor ?

VW Golf GTI 1990 2.0 16v (9A)

Signal from sensor hall of the distributor.

Maybe the assembly of the ECU is not correct.

I want to control the coil directly without ignition module.

sorry my english is bad

HELP ME PLEASE :!: :!: :!: :!: :| :| :|

you cannot drive the coil without a ignition module, al least you need the oem igniter of that engine, does that trigger have 4 teeth? like a trigger from a carburated engine?

please explain everything about your engine: injectors (impedance), coil, how did you do your wiring?

btw what is your first language?

VW GTI 9A have mechanic injection.

Well, i have a MS2 V3

-I got injector from 16v 2.0 Toyota Denso engines (320CC) High imp.
- Coil Blaster2 MSD ( NEgative to ping 36 of DB7 ) (Positive + form pump relay) Direct Coil Control

ok, I'm from Venezuela, but I don't know if there is a problem if we speak spanish here.

do you have a bip 373 at Q16 position in the mainboard? like this:

ok perfect you have a direct coil control.

here are the steps for a hall sensor:

V3.0 board - VR Input with pullup for hall sensors, LS2/58X, optical sensors or points
a) Solder a link between VRIN and TACHSELECT
b) Solder a wire between VrOUT and TSEL
c) Install a 1k resistor (any value 470R - 2k2 is likely ok) in the proto area. Connect one end to the 5V hole and join the other end to VRIN with a jumper wire.
d) With a small screwdriver, turn the pots, R52 and R56, about 12 turns anticlockwise (sometimes you may feel a "click" when the end position is reached, they can't be damaged by turning too far.) and then turn R56 back about 6 turns clockwise.

here is the manual, there are the pictures just look the setup vr input with pullup, you'll see those steps plus the pictures.

His board is already configured to use the Opto Isolator.

Unless he is experienced at unsoldering and working on the circuit board, it should work as it is configured.

Found some drawings how to wire Megasquirt and VW hall on distributor and how to adjust the trigger angle...
That's all if first presume that you've done all the MS board mods correctly and as specified in build manual for setting it for Hall input
Hope this helps

I would hope to save Alex from some confusion -
That diagram ^^^^^^ is for a MS v2.2 board with no ignition control (and poor grounding). Fuel only.
The distributor Alex previously pictured does not appear to have any advance mechanism, it will not work as shown in that diagram.
Alex's v3.0 board has an ignition driver, so the external igniter/driver shown is not needed.
If Alex wants full ignition control, the distributor sensor can be used to trigger the system and the on board driver used. (he is on the good path)
Some Hall sensors may need a pull up resistor to properly trigger the input circuit. <<<<< this may be his only problem

Note: The electrical tape on the Q4 modification scares me!

To properly align a distributor you need to,
rotate the motor in the normal direction by hand,
Stop at 25° BTDC
Rotate the distributor to center the rotor with a cap output post
Lock the distributor (do not move the distributor from this setting)(spark timing is set by Tuner Studio)
With the timing set as "FIXED" in Tuner Studio
Adjust the "trigger angle" setting so a timing light shows the same degrees set as "fixed"(10° is fine).
After this setting is done switch spark control back to "use table"
