no mat based timing retard

Hey Guys: trying to dial in my spark tables on KenneBell blown 5.0 Mustang. Being that this is a positive displacement blower it generates some crazy intake air temps - easily exceeding 200 degrees F after just a few seconds under boost. I have set up the Mat based timing retard to start pulling timing at 180 degrees F yet , I don't get any retard at all regardless of the temp reached. I have double checked units of measure, etc , but don't see any reason it shouldn't be activating. Any body see anything I missed?

Make sure you are using the 3.3.3 firmware.

am running MSPNP 2 , purchased in July, I assume it has the latest firmware...........how do I determine that?

when I open Tuner Studio, it says this at the top:

TunerStudio MS v2.6.04- MyCar (go online for firmware version) Registered to (my name)

You need to be connected to your megasquirt and "online" (megasquirt powered on) for the firmware to be displayed

OK, got it - I'm running firmware version 3.3.1 .
So does that mean I will have to update the firmware to get the mat based retard to work?
