Barometric Correction

Post by Karlis »

Hi all,

I'm experiencing problems with barometric correction and I hope someone can help me to figure it out.
I have read all the posts here that I can find regarding barometric correction problems and solutions but I haven't find an answer yet. There are some issues which I can't figure out:

1) If Barometric Correction curve follows barometric pressure as it should (at higher altitude, lower BARO pressure, correction goes down), then why injector pulse width increases (see "PW curve No1" in the attachment)?
2) Different, but very similar barometric correction table gives opposite results - all 3 curves follows each other (see "PW curve No2" in the attachment), PW curve follows correction curve and pressure curve - all 3 goes down.

What can cause difference like this?

I need to get lower injector PW at higher altitudes because of lower air density and pressure, but the correction table I intend to use gives results as in picture "PW curve No1". Am I doing something wrong or is it MicroSquirt error?

In both cases same Barometric Correction settings were used - At total vacuum (%): 0; Rate (%): 0. Just the correction table values were changed (see "BARO CORR tables" in the attachment). Left table is for "PW curve No1", right - for "PW curve No2".

I'm using MicroSquirt Module, version 3.3.3. and have 2 identical, working pressure sensors - MPX4250AP - one as MAP, another as BARO. Fuel calculation method is Alpha-N.

Regards,

Karlis

See http://www.msextra.com/forums/viewtopic ... 25&t=58270 and upgrade to the current firmware.

Thank you James,

Upgrading to MS 3.4.0 solved my problem.
I did the same test and now barometric correction is working properly (see the attachment).

Best regards,
Karlis
