I hooked a 12v test light to the harness plug before the coil, The light would flicker, it is dim, and when I turn the key off it gets really bright before going off.
I changed the ignition switch and that seemed to help the flickering.
Still no spark pulse and the starter is sounding weak to the point that it stops.
I have 12v at the battery terminals. Do I have too weak of a battery ?
Your battery is just about dead at 12.0V. You will need a charger on it full time for all the stuff you're doing.

Put the EEC-IV back in to see if it will start.

It appears my timing light has failed! It would not work on my running 5.0.

That will definitely make it hard to check your timing.

Pop a plug and earth it against the motor with the lead attached, crank and see if you get a spark?

Checked and confirmed a good spark with the stock computer.
Nothing with the Megasquirt!

Very strange results, considering limp mode should work even if the MS is broken.

Megasquirt must be interrupting the signal?
I am sending it back tomorrow.

Power Adder Solutions is one of our resellers. If you buy an MSPNP or MS3-Pro from them, we would handle warranty support.

Did it start & run with the stock computer?

I don't have the correct MAF for it to run on the stock computer. I was getting a nice spark though.

Still no luck. Sent my MS back to DIY, reflashed the firmware of corrupt data, and went through this twice.
My factory ecu fires the car right up! The timing is confirmed at 10BTDC with a light. My Mustang idles with the factory ecu, lots of white smoke though.
When I switch back to the MSPNP2, its back to the same old problems- crank and no start, and maybe a cough.
I am so bummed on this, I don't think MS can run my car.
Please help.

Of course it can!

Post MSQ?

Another thought is that if your ms is getting data corrupted you have a serious noise problem.
Power or ground or Via the serial (USB adapter with a cord longer than 6")?
Low resistance plug wires non resistor plugs.
Noise filter cap on coil + side.

Have you tried bypassing / removing the MSD?
Correctly identify your MS ecu here
Read the Do's and Don'ts to avoid the common pitfalls before starting your install or asking for help
Use only these manuals other manuals may cause brain damage or worse.

1st you said it couldn't run on the factory ECU, then you said it does run on the factory ECU.
White smoke indicates you're burning oil or coolant.

Did you reload your tune after the DIY was returned to you?
Did DIY say what they did?
