Re: NOOB Harley V-twin No Spark
Find out if you are losing RPM-sync first. If you don't have a stable tach signal nothing else will work correctly.

Re: NOOB Harley V-twin No Spark
The MAP is NOT showing upin the composition logger but it does show up on the gauge cluster.

You can put paint marks on the alternator rotor and primary inner cover, put them where you can see them through the inspection cover.
Use one dot on the rotor for front TDC and 2 dots on rotor for rear TDC.
Then you can use a timing light to see what is happening.

Correctly identify your MS ecu here

any thoughts on why i get 2 sparks on cyl 1per cycle and only 1 spark on cyl 2? its not waste spark, it doesnt correlate to either cylinder. its 2 sparks in rapid succession.
cyl 2 doesnt do that.

Re: NOOB Harley V-twin No Spark
When i pull the plug wires and put spark testers on them, #1 cylinder has 2 concurrent sparks, cylinder #2 only has one. It is not a waste spark as the timing is not correct to be that. 2 rapid sparks on cyl1 followed by a single spark on cyl2.
Correct me if im wrong but front cyl is #1, right? I know i read that somewhere but that would definitely throw timing off.

Re: NOOB Harley V-twin No Spark
Cylinder #1 is front? Not in Harley's ECM, Its the rear. Anyone weigh in on this?

Re: NOOB Harley V-twin No Spark
AFR seems to be pegged at 19.9
Re: NOOB Harley V-twin No Spark
Not firing the injectors, trying to log so we can figure out the ignition timing issue.

Re: NOOB Harley V-twin No Spark
Well, I went thru all of my ignition wiring last night. Everything is correct. I'm not very experienced with this software but the only thing i noticed in the data-log is the fluctuation of the map sensor. I will replace it and see if that goes away. Tried to check timing on the stator last night. Far too messy, too much oil slinging off the chain to get any good info.
Any new ideas? Looks like i will miss the first race of the season so i may build a twin trigger on the camshaft if i cant get it to operate any other way.

That kind of data log is not really good for chasing ignition timing issues.

I guess a tooth log - although I'm not experienced with oddfire engines.
