Driving the coils with resistors mod and yes there paired per each output.

Re: Ms2 Engine exhaust popping
It is not recommended to use the relay board for low impedance injectors.
You could keep the relay board for what it does well and install a DB15 in place of the 3 LED's to route the injector ground and any other extra high current loads through.

I would bury it in the back yard and hope the dog doesn't dig it up!ttbrendan wrote:Should I keep the relay board or discard it?

Been there, done THAT!

I'm wondering if getting the ms3 pro would be easier.
Or maybe getting peak hold drivers.

Re: Ms2 Engine exhaust popping
ms3 pro cannot run low-z directly

Unless you go for the new MS3Pro Ultimate - this one has peak and hold drivers built in.grom_e30 wrote:ms3 pro cannot run low-z directly

Have you tried adding 360 degrees to your tooth offset to flip the phase?
Have you verified spark timing with a light?

Re: Ms2 Engine exhaust popping
FWIW, the last time I saw an issue like this (about 2 weeks ago) was on a bbc that was popping in the intake. Didn't take long to figure out the cam was flat.

Re: Ms2 Engine exhaust popping
It's a roller cam with less than 5 min on it. But it has crossed my mind.
Yes timing is spot on when not running.
Change a few grounds an car fires right up but still popping. Made a composite log of timing signals but for some reason can't open read it.

Re: Ms2 Engine exhaust popping
I have taken power for injectors off relay board, checked the flyback circuit in the ecu, added resistor inline, turn off pwm, and moved grounds around. Still get popping from exhaust.
Going to take the top end apart for inspection. The plugs are black and I'm also getting unbearable smoke. Also notice a few cylinders seem to be running hotter than others.
Could injectors be leaking ?
I'm just guessing now.

The only thing that makes me think it's something to do with ecu is the waking timing when running.ttbrendan wrote:I have taken power for injectors off relay board, checked the flyback circuit in the ecu, added resistor inline, turn off pwm, and moved grounds around. Still get popping from exhaust.

Re: Ms2 Engine exhaust popping
I think my problem has something to do with sparkA. Cylinder 1 and 6 are tied to A. Those to cylinder are getting the header glowing.
So once running their either losing timing or random fire.

So I think I found my problem.
I didn't dig a deep enough hole in the backyard so my dogs wouldn't find the relay board.
Not sure if I did something wrong or what but relay board gone and so far no popping.
Thanks to everyone for their help

Re: Ms2 Engine exhaust popping
It's seems like I am experiencing these same problems, I guess tomorrow I will re wire the coils and optical sensors direst to the ms and just leave the relay board to power the fuel pump.
