1994 5.0 litre hitting a rev limiter at 5200

Post by uarperformance »

Hey guys I am doing my first mega squirt set up. Thought it would be fairly straight forward with some learning curve. Its a fairly stock 5.0 long tubes , 303 cam type deal. Having some idle control, issues but getting closer, but my main issue is it hitting a rev limiter situation at approx 5200- 5400. i have shut off hard limiter. I have tried to shove a bunch of fuel at it and taken away a bunch. The wideband in the car was not working correctly with the log but the dyno AFR were at 12.0 to 16. with the same issue. The O2 bung was actually too long and not getting a reading at all. We shortened it a half inch and now reads but off from dyno Wideband. Can someone see if I have something switched. Install factory ECU and revs to 6500.So we know its not the car. Thanks Bobby at UAR

Nothing jumps out in the MSQ, so perhaps there is something corrupted in the MSQ or a bug in the 3.3.3 code you are running.
A MSL may show what is happening but not the cause.
I am assuming a PNP board as the code has an NP suffix?

3.4.2 is the current firmware level and there have been many improvements.

1. Engine size is 4949cc. Enter 302 in Required Fuel Calculator.
2. Do you really have 2 baro sensors?
3. AFR Table says boosted, VE Table & Ignition Table say not.
4. Over-run Fuel Cut is ON. Cut Fuel when rpm is greater than 2000? Turn it Off.

What is the default tune you started with?

^ Agreed.

I'm getting an error code when opening the .msq . Update firmware on ECU to 3.4.2 and see if problem goes away. Since the error is pointing to an ,ini line in 3.3.0 Code, that's too much of a coincidence to be ignored. Error and warning messages like this can be the result of a Format Signature mismatch.
