"Flex timing didn’t support negative timing." Please explain

Post by tryingbe »

I searched, and didn't find any more info.
Main changes since pre-3.4.3 beta 2
Bug fixes:
Flex timing didn't support negative timing. (Signed vs. unsigned

Does this mean if I put negative value in timing addition in the Flex Fuel Sensor Settings in the current 3.4.2 release Firmware, the negative timing will not be added?

Thanks.

Yes, the current release firmware does not support removing timing with flex.

But why do you want to have negative timing anyway? You should be ADDING timing - surely?

Thanks for the reply. I'm new at MS.

The fuel in the tank of my car is currently E54, and I want to tune it with it. (Arizona outlawed E85) So, 54% would be my "Baseline Ethanol%" in the Flex Fuel Sensor Setting, right?

If I am forced to use octane 91 gas, I need to set MS to take fuel out and also subtract spark timing. Correct?
