Microsquirt Jeep 4.0
Last year I installed an ms3x on my turbo 4.0 Jeep Cherokee and I couldn't be happier with how it went. It was my first megasquirt install and between the manual and the internet I finished it without issue. Two months ago my friend and i decided to install a megasquirt on his turbo 4.0 Comanche. The engine in his truck was orignally from a 96 cherokee so it had the jeep2000 trigger pattern. To keep costs down we went with a microsquirt, and we changed the flexplate (which has the trigger wheel integrated in it) to a Renix flex plate because i knew that trigger pattern was supported by ms2/micro. I am curious to know why jeep2000 isn't supported by the ms2/microsquirt? Is it a hardware limitation or simply a lack of demand?

Just less memory space in the MS2 processor - there's not enough room to fit some of the less common trigger patterns in there.

Is there any way to get the later 4.0 pattern into a microsquirt?

There are no plans to add new features to the MS2/Extra code.
