conflict in ignition drivers (solved)

Post by robhart »

I run microsquirt on a custom 4 cyl ap. It has run well for a year and while in live tune my engine shut down and the fan ran. I could not communicate with the ecu (all the messages showed up) so after trying to configure I reloaded the firmware. The new version wouldn't work with the older file so I just reentered all the new params based on the old file. It starts and runs but the tach is way off it wont rev and timing fluctuates a lot. I did check the tach settings and found out if you turn the tach output off and burn, the engine will die and you have to reinstall firmware. If you change the tach output to "on" on the car starts . If you turn off the engine, then with the key on if you change the tach to off then turn the key on you get ( conflict between spare outputs and spark outputs) this is with all the spare outputs off. What am I missing or do I need a new ECU

You've loaded the MS2 version of the firmware instead of the Microsquirt version - that means that the outputs are mixed up.

Reload the firmware and be sure to pick the correct type of hardware.
