Fox Mustang installing procharger, what needs to be changed?
Hi,
I am installing a Procharger Supercharger on my Mustang 363 stroker. I am currently running MSPNP naturally aspirated. Does anybody have a tune I could copy to start with?
I know to retard timing quite a bit and rework the fuel table. I want to run about 15lbs of boost.
Thank you!

Increase VE1, Ignition, & AF tables to 15psi above atmosphere (200 kPA)

You cannot bolt on a pro charger and plug in someone else's MSQ.
That is a recipe for disaster.
As noted above,
VE, AFR, and Spark tables will need to be reconfigured.
Injector size and ReqFuel may need to be changed.
Fuel pump and pressure regulator may need attention, configuration, or replacement.
This really should be dyno tuned for reliability.
15psi I think may be getting onto a range where water injection and an intercooler is necessary.
Piston ring gap will likely need to be opened up, compression ratio and or cam selection may be critical.
Many install these systems for the wow factor when the hood is opened,
actually using the power one of these systems is capable of requires all the I's are dotted and T's are crossed before smashing the loud pedal.

I'm running a supercharged windsor, but there is zero chance I would give someone a tune to plug in.
If you really don't know what to do, please take it to someone who does.
15psi is more than enough to lunch a poorly set up engine.

I am just looking for a starting ground/ examples. I will have an intercooler.

I'm assume you have built n/a Mustang 363 stroker and then you want to add a procharger on it? 15psi sounds like a lot.

Re: Fox Mustang installing procharger, what needs to be chan
Your own running NA tune is the best possible start for you.
As has been mentioned, change the ignition and VE table bins to suit your proposed boost and that is a good starting point.
Better than you will get from using someone elses tune.

Don't leave out expanding the AFR table.
You don't want O2 correction to drive the AFR away from where you need to be.

You had a starting point until you over-revved the engine.tonawawa wrote:I am just looking for a starting ground/ examples. I will have an intercooler.

Can somebody see why?

I am going to start at 8lbs of boost.
I did not over-rev my engine, it is fine!

Set your bins for a max of around 185kpa then to start with.tonawawa wrote:I am going to start at 8lbs of boost.

Although you'd be better off changing the bins to what you think your final boost will be so you don't have to change it later.
