Re: Jeep 4.0l year 2001 i6 megasquirt
You really should have researched this before purchasing megasquirt. I setup ms2 on my 1997 4.0l. I switched to batch fire and my engine uses a distributor. Your engine has a camshaft position sensor in place of the distributor. I know yours is coil on plug but I forget if it's wasted spark or not. Anyways, the ecu needs to be able to recognize where in the cycle the engine is, so megasquirt needs a cam input, or a missing tooth on the crank wheel. Here was my solution...
I made a concentric spacer and used pins to clock the toothed wheel to the inner portion of the harmonic damper.

The other option is to use the cam signal in addition to the crank signal. The ecu just needs to know TDC of cyl1.

Re: Jeep 4.0l year 2001 i6 megasquirt
Back again, so i ve used a 60-2 wheel and stil cant get to fire it, i have spark and fuel but it seems its out of sync i´m only using the crank trigger with missing tooth what am i doing wrong i´ve connected the injectors in firing order 1-5-3-6-2-4 so injector 1 with 5 3 with 6 etc and the coil with ignition 12v and ign 1 2 and 3 the crank sensor its mounted 11 teeth before the gap so i assumed 66º what am i doing wrong will i have to go distributor?????????

With fixed timing set to 15°, Put a timing light on it and adjust the trigger angle to bring the spark to 15°.

Re: Jeep 4.0l year 2001 i6 megasquirt
If you are only using a crank trigger you can only use wasted spark mode no sequential ignition. Wasted spark or wasted COP or a single coil & distributor.
You need both a cam signal and a crank signal to do sequential COP
Doesn't that crank trigger pattern work with the renix decoder? Maybe that was that an earlier model AMC jeep that used a renix system?
If so can you switch to a Renix style flywheel?

The OP has not identified the crank pattern in a MS way.
You say it has 12 "teeth" but that is really holes isnt it?
3 groups of 4 holes
If there was a continuous ring of holes how many would there be?
this is the first number
then there are three groups of missing holes to match the 3 groups of 4
15 -1-1-1
18 -2-2-2
21 -3-3-3
24 -4-4-4 4 holes - 4 holes missing - 4 holes - 4holes missing - 4 holes - 4holes missing. 6x4 = 24
27 -5-5-5
30 -6-6-6
33 -7-7-7
36 -8-8-8
39 -9-9-9
42 -10-10-10
45 -11-11-11
48 -12-12-12
51 -13-13-13
54 -14-14-14
57 -15-15-15
60 -16-16-16
63 -17-17-17
66 -18-18-18
etc
All of these combos have three groups of 4 holes
The actual patten needs to be described in this manner to check compatibility with existing MS decoders
