MS2 daughter board - Inj-1 stays on
Hello,
Last weekend I was racing my street-dragrace-car, when suddenly the engine stopped making power.
I pressed the clutch-pedal and the engine stopped.
After some searching, I found the combustion chambers were flooded with fuel.
I disconnected the fuel-injector-plugs and searched further.
The problem was in the Megasquirt2 V3.0 box, I decided to pack my stuff together and search at home what went wrong.
At home I connected a MegaStim V2.21 and found the I1 (injector-bank-1) light was staying on, without engine-rpm.
I performed the same test without the MS2 daughter board, the light stayed off.
The Firmware could be the problem, so I loaded the newest firmware onto the processor.
The I1 light stayed on during the flash, this told me the problem wasn't in the Firmware.
After rebooting the Megasquirt2 V3.0 the I1 light was still coming on.
Luckally I have more MegaSquirts at home, so I took a processor from a other MS2.
The car runs again, but I'm still puzzelt what happend with my processor and can I repair something on the MS2 daughter board?

There are no mods done to both of my MS2 Daughter boards.

Looking at the schematic in the manual, looks like pwm0-1 from the CPU goes directly to the board. Sounds like your cpu is bad if swapping fixes it. What were you doing prior to it failing?

I was driving full throttle in 4th gear on the 1/4 mile dragrace strip.
Just before the finish, the power went away.
I looked at the price for a new ms2 daughter board, they are now more expensive than when I started working with megasquirt.

If it is just replacing the surface mount chip, then I can manage it myself.
Is it as simple as I am thinking now? Just replace the SMD-chip ?

Beyond replacing the chip, there's also the matter of loading the bootloader. This takes specialized equipment, and the current bootloader is not publicly available.
