MAP - does anyone recognise this?
Is this a MAP?
If so, does anyone know the model or specs?
it's located at the end of my throttle body.
Car was converted by previous owner. I'm flying blind here as a novice.

MAP sensor either goes into the intake manifold or has a vacuum hose going to it.MjrLeeStressed wrote:Is this a MAP?

Re: MAP - does anyone recognise this?
TPS sounds logical.
This one has me stuffed! I'll search again tomorrow in the daylight.
Thanks for your suggestions.

Are you having an issue, or just documenting components on your vehicle? ( to develop a B.O.M.)
Sometimes doing a google image search on TPS's helps in identification.

Re: MAP - does anyone recognise this?
The reason for this is 2-fold:
1. Documentation of components.
2. Although the car runs OK, I believe the fuel economy is compromised. The car is a 1500cc Triumph Spitfire, yet the fuel used seems closer to a 6200cc V8 on steroids.
After searching further this morning (via google as suggested and tracing tubes from under the dash to the engine bay. This is what I found (images).
a. Vacuum tube in engine bay is T-joined to the PSI gauge.
b. Vacuum tube under the dash to the ECU suggests an internal MAP.
c. Guessed, yet seemingly likely MAP = MapDaddy Dual 4-Bar MAP sensor. <--- Happy for suggestions on this theory.

Re: MAP - does anyone recognise this?
Ad Lib:
History: I purchased the car with EFI. It needed a tune; i had zero information on the EFI version and zero knowledge of EFI tuning and the components needed.
I stumbled on finding the version as Megasquirt and now I'm self teaching the finer tuning techniques. My goal is to ensure ALL base settings are correct now, as I've found autotune in TunerStudio not effective at the 2000 rev range. I don't know why it changed, but now the engine seems confused at about that range and the MAP at cruise seems high (not far off 100kPa).
A couple of images..
Image d (current settings in TunerStudio)
** Deleted ** Image e (if the above MapDaddy is correct, settings) Now obsolete, as I believe the sensor is (MPX4250AP)
image f (actual photo inside ECU) I don't want to pull this apart in case I dislodge something internally).
Notes in Tunerstudio state:
MAP Sensor Calibration
For the MPX4115 use 10.6 and 121.7
MPX4250 10.0 260.0 <<< It looks like these are the figures I'll use. Live test and results to come.
MPXH6300 1.1 315.5
GM 3-BAR 1.1 315.5
MPXH6400 3.5 416.5

Re: MAP - does anyone recognise this?
Result: No significant change. I do believe this is the correct setting though. Problem is caused somewhere else.
I'll post my data in another post named: Autotune result making engine run worse. Data attached.
