firmware loading problem 3.4.2 diypnp n122

hi all, today i tried to load 3.4.2 firmware to my diy pnp microsquirt module ecu.
I did all the steps correctly but finally instead of showing me the message ''turn off the power and remove the boot jumper'' the message that poped up was
''wrote 124092 bytes
***be sure re-set your sensor calibrations***
***settings not preserved. please re-load your MSQ''

i have done all the steps correctly i placed a boot jumper and set the com port 2
why that happened?

I finally fund what was wrong
on tuner studio there is a ''communication'' --> com port and there was more than one.
when deleted them and i only left com port 1 finally worked !

what should be my next step in order to determine if my ecu is working. (it is a second hand)

p.s. sorry for my silly questions but im a new one on ecu game

is there any oyher way of testing it?
as far as loads the firmware should I get worried about something else?

No intention to offend...... Was jusst curious. A Stim makes troubleshooting a ton easier, IMHO.

Unfortunately not so easy on any PNP ECU though as the connectors are OEM specific.

Ah, yes......... makes a difference, huh.........
Just another case of my alligator mouth, overloading my hummingbird *$$!

The older I get, the worse I get! Perhaps I should keep my mouth shut and just read.

so, what process i should follow in order to dermine if my ECU is working or not ?

Depending on your setup you might want to start with a preconfigured MSQ. And calibrate your sensors. Turn the key and see what happens.
If it doesn't sync you can step through the setup and fix it or start from default in a new project.

I prefer to start with default MSQ that way YOU know what has been set and why.

You did not indicate what kind (Make & Model) of motor you have so I am not able to recommend a starting MSQ to try.

A starting MSQ is dodgy unless you have a bone stock OEM setup (they can be very close if all OEM).
Loading a "foreign" MSQ can be a crap shoot as you have no idea what was done or why.
A starting MSQ should also be selected from a system running the same firmware version.
Another way to use a starting MSQ from a similar install is to use it as a guide to help you setup a default MSQ.

Properly ID your injectors and fuel pressure so you can get the ReqFuel right, as this is a critical setting.
Changing the ReqFuel at a later date will affect tuning, likely needing a retune.
Get your injector dead time right as well as changes there will dramatically affect idle and cruise tuning.

I'm not going to recommend a base map because your next question is going to be why doesn't my motor run or run right on the base map.

It's not that hard, Follow the DIY instructions and the default tables will get you going as well as any canned map you may find.

Quite often DIY Autotune have base maps for the vehicles they sell PNP units for.
