IAC leads.

Post by 107merc »

I want to use IAC1A as an electric fan control by programming the lead in T/S using engine temp. I also want to use
IAC1B as a 12V signal to my stock tach. I understand that A and B are opposite pairs, when one is high the other is low
and vice versa. Does this mean B will only respond to the parameters set for A or will they be independent?? Any info appreciated.

You control over IAC1 (PT7). The A and B outputs are controlled by the hardware and are not independent.

Thanks for responding, does that mean my assignment plan for IAC1A & B won't work?? Do I need to use another lead for the tach signal??
Thanks again.

Yes you can only use either IAC1 or IAC2 for one function.

The A and B side are paired in the hardware and cannot be run separately.
What ever happens on the A side happens on the B side opposite polarity.

Thanks, don't know why I had so much trouble grasping that concept.

Opened up the MS and connected the JimStim and powered up. T/S says everything good, RPM synched etc.
I thought I would see a +12V sq/wv signal on JS0-JS3 per the manual?? I have nothing. Does "idle control" have to be set to 5-6 wire stepper
befor that happens?? Still no tach0 sig. on IAC1. though it's programmed in "tacho output" Do I not have something programmed correctly?? Very confused.
