engine misfiring under load

Hi,

My engine is misfiring under load. Seems to idle ok, but as soon as I attempt to drive the miss appears. This is a new problem, which just appeared the other day when I was driving and required a tow home. I've since thrown a new set of plugs at it, but the problem still persists. I am running a Microsquirt module that handles the EDIS-4 ignition system, however the car is carburettored.

The fault could be fuel/air related, but I am not discounting the ignition system just yet as experience has shown me that it can be difficult to diagnose these things. So I just thought I'd post my log file and msq and hopefully, if there are any abnormalities, it will be apparent to someone looking at the log file with more experience working with these.

Can you make a new log, and hit the space bar when the miss appears? Nothing really blatant showed up in that log.

Attempt to drive or just increase the RPM's?

Lots of things to look at besides plugs.
Firing order and plug wire condition (distributorless setup?)
Battery voltage
Alternator noise
battery cable condition
crank trigger condition & wiring
Head gasket (crossfiring)
Fuel pressure under load

Run it in the dark (really dark) and have a look around the engine for a light show. I've had bad ignition leads play havoc with the ECU.

Check your fuel pump and tank connections where air may be leaking IN under load.
