Change battery, and now the stim wont work

Post by robstah »

I was working in Megatune, just looking over settings, and the next thing I notice, Megatune looses connection with the MS, and I get a flashing fuel pump LED on the stim (battery dead). I unplugged the battery and put a new one in, the stim INJ2 flashes about 5 times really fast, then dies. I tried to replug the battery and I get no more LED action and the chip on the stim (U1) gets really hot. Did the chip burn up or something? I have yet to test the MS in the car to see if it has any issues. The stim U1 gets hot, even with the MS unplugged. Any ideas?

Flashing fuel pump on the stim is most likely you made a configuration error. Check the manual. (Note - you do NOT need to re-install the firmware)

A hot chip on the stim sounds pretty serious. Either you have a short circuit somewhere or you fitted the battery backwards ?
