You've seen the video from the MS meet with James' home etched board: http://www.1320video.com/MSMeeting.php

Now here is the soon to be released version (with the cpu not installed):
Image(click on the picture for a larger version)

There are still some firmware tweaks to be done as well as some more thorough testing of all the board functionalities. Since James is quite busy, it will take at least a week before we have a first version that can be shipped.

At first, the board will be sold as a partial kit only with the board and programmed processor. As of this time, pricing has not been finalized yet but the Digikey BOM is about $36 and the partial kit should be under $30. There are only about 10 boards available in the first batch but once we know everything is working as intended and if there is enough interest we can have more boards done pretty quickly. We'll also discuss with distributors to see their interest.

More details of the board functionalities, how to use them, and how to assemble it will be given later.

Not at the moment. Bill Shurvinton and Phil Ringwood have shown interest but they don't have them in stock yet, as far as I know.

If there are dealers interested in carrying them, let me know.

If you want a partial kit (board+cpu), I can sell you one. If you want a full kit, DIYAutotune is the place to go.

Cheers,
Jean

James, Jean,
I was looking over the documentation for the Jimstim and noticed a note regarding the "ls1" wheel mode. it says (crude) next to it. I am assuming that it is a bit rough around the edges but does work for confirming basic functionality. Is that correct? Could either of you describe the limitations of this particular wheel mode?

Thanks for your time.
Cheers,
Rufus

The real LS1 wheel mode uses teeth of varying thickness for enhanced crank position information and probably a fast-start mode. Current Megasquirt code does not use this and only uses the other regular edge of the wheel. (I doubt if other aftermarket ECUs use the complex data either.)
The JimStim only simulates the regular edge and the cam signal. It should be just fine for testing out LS1 mode.
