Don't u just hate it when u have read a really useful post, but a month later u can't remember which forum u read it on!!
Anyways somewhere i read about using a psu for an old computer to power the stim, apparently the P9's don't last too long. Can anybody confirm this or point to the post?
Thanks in advance

PC power suppy
To use a PC power supply is a good idea, but maybe a bit of caution is needed.
The 12 V PC cranks out in excess of 5 A so please install a fuse in the supply to the STIM/MS.
Especially when starting up the first time or after hardware mods.
Otherwise you may be unlucky and fry some PCB trace.
A 500 ma fuse in the lead between PC pwr supply and the STIM/MS is a good start, once all is up an running you can do w/o the fuse.
I am lucky enough to have a lab pwr supply with adj current limit, and with my unlimited potential to let out smoke from electronics I try to remember to always start with the CL knob way down at 20 mA and then crank it up!
