Can you post the specs of the wall wart you were using? Unless it was an AC wall wart (or maybe a DC wall wart with a failed rectifier), I fail to see how it would cause the issues you had.

It measured low, around 9vdc though... I was told that this is typical of walwarts by another forum member so I didn't think anything of it. I don't see how it would have caused any of those problems either! It was like a last ditch effort since I had tried everything else already to...slomo85 wrote:12vdc 600mA

A 9V input would not be an issue (and as you say not surprising) and 600mA should be more than enough for basic testing. So either there is something wrong with the power supply or something on the board is drawing more current than it should. Just check to see if anything gets hot. If not then you should be good with the other supply.
