Megastim and EDIS

Post by adamnreeves »

I have been giving a friend a hand with building and setting up his Megasquirt II. Its Ver 3.0PCB with the daughter board. This board was soldered by a friend of his with an electronics background, looks a very neat job. I tested it with Megastim and it all worked fine. Loaded on firmware 3.1.0. However the board was built as if using a trigger wheel on the dizzy, i.e. Hall effect. So I have directed him with the changes to be made to convert to EDIS. Replace R12 with 1k resistor and JS10 to ignition, S12C to top of C30, etc. etc.

However now the RPM does not show when connecting to Megastim. Does megastim not work with EDIS on MS2. I thought it did on MS1 but this used D14 or D17 rather than JS10

Edit: MegaStim version 2.0

Thanks,
Adam.

I think there is an issue with the circuit on the Megastim 2.0 that means it won't show a tach signal with the "EDIS input mods"
