Tonight, I tried to wire in my hall effect VSS but couldn't get it to work. I spent a couple hours reading in the manual and many posts but it is still not clear.
Am using 5v in and verified a 0-5v pulse output of the sensor. Connected the output to tablesw#28 and programed that as the input in the VSS window. When I turn the VSS by hand, no response in the MPH gauge. Earlier tried D/log in#30 as input.
I hope I get over this newbie think some day.

Re: VSS on Jimstim
With no response, I guess this got classified as a stupid question.
Anyway, in the output dropdown, I guessed that JS11 might stand for Jimstim. I still don't know what the 11 stands for but the important thing is that it works.

Re: VSS on Jimstim
JS11 has nothing to do with the JimStim. It's a solder pad on the MS V3.0 board. Check the schematics: http://www.msextra.com/doc/general/ms2v3schems.html.

Jean,
Then why would the VSS start stimulating the MPH gauge on TS when I put the output to JS11? It was not working before I did that when the output was set to off.
As I am sure you figured out by now, reading schematics is not my forte.
What should the output be set to for indicating mph on the JS gauge screen?
