extra parts...?

I have the JimStim 1.5 and I just laid it out on the table to make sure it's all there and getting ready to assemble it.
After I read through the entire assembly instructions, I have four pieces left over. The labels on the bag read:
(3) 3x2 header double row
(7) Shunts
(3) Wire Jumpers for .1" headers
And the last bag is not labeled. But it's just the 9v battery piece.
Do I not need to install these pieces? I'm VERY new to electronic assembly. Sorry if this is a very basic question.
