EDIS test bench

Post by W113 »

Merry Xmas to all !
"Prime Mover" is a bench grinder where one wheel is repaced by a 36-1 wheel with an angle template glued on
The coils and plugs are mounted on a 20 mm aluslab, with the plugs threaded in. NB plugs are resistor plugs , if not EDIS will misbehave
The simulator is a home built OT, which also has a static 36-1 simulator to trig EDIS. Works well but the bench grider is cooler to watch , especially when spinning at 6500 rpm thru a frequency converter .
The MS is a home cooked unit in a die cast alu box, connecting thru a 16 A /1000V rated connector .
And it works well, and will eventually be transplanted to the GT40 owned by a friend . Presently runs a FORD 350 on Electromotive at 450 hp .
The electromotive works perfectly , but on MSDOS it is a struggle to tune and log .
The MSnS-E is amazingly accurate , sparks with an accuracy of less the 0,25 degrees!! Good job by the developers and the EDIS is great .
