Hi. I desided to write down a littlebit of my long term project. I have been installing few megasquirts in last 5 years. Finally I'm close to make it work well at my old lady :) It all started as usual. Carb started to mess around and I don't know anything at all about them :) Todays carburetor spare parts are more and more NOS parts and therefore bit difficult to get.
So, It is 1970 Viva. All basic. Drum brakes etc. I'll bet some older forum users may remember these. :D I desided to take this project thorough not the easisest way. But to look outside as orginal as it is today. It is 1 point throttlebody injection. Maybe some photos tell more than my not so good english.

Outside at least 5 years ago. Today it is covered with bird s*** :(
Enginebay It is messy. But it has been messy as far as I can remember...
Something is wrong if comparing to normal Stromberg.
Throttlebody

Does it work ? Yes. It runs, barely. With HD code it doesn't even spray any fuel. Standard code works better and with it it is running. Barely. There has to be somethng mecanical fault, airleak etc. Maybe this is revealed and fixed in this summer. And who knows, maybe I could get it thorough local MOT. But before that I'll have to fix brakes and and and :D BTW Despite Lucas bad reputation in electrics. This car has never been burnt or leave driver in darkest forrest roads. Only to parking lots or desiding to not start at all :P

1256cc ohv
630cc injector
3b fixed fuel pressure.
029y4 code.
Tech Edge 2a0 wideband controller.

Yes. Basically. Fuel pump keeps a loud buzz. Without that, it is stealth. Got it running better today. Changed injection cycles from 2 to 4. Now it runs whole lot better idle. But far from okay :)

Ran few tests with two and one squirts per engine cycle. The just doesn't work. I'ts like it's misses every other work stroke. And with 1 squirt engine ran only with remains of cranking fuel. With four squirts pw is 1.6-1.8ms at idle. It is low, but i've seen lower :) What is funny, I have to use around 13.8 or little richer to achieve CO 3.0 wich is adjustment level. I thought that would be more like 14, but that is CO 2.0.

Passed MOT. There is a lot of tuning ahead. It runs great 1/4 of gas, after that misfires etc :)

I think It's fixed. Replaced new, but somehow bad distributor cap + rotor to new NOS parts.

WORKS !
It needed tremendous degree of advance to work. 55 degree @ WOT 5500rpm... At idle when fixed rpm 10, light told 8. I'didn't run it higher rpm then.
